Same here - main interesst for me is seeing real women who are actually barefoot in a public setting. The more "unsuitable" (dirt, glass, cold etc) the better. I cannot find much interesst in "staged" pictures with models just taking off their shoes for the shooting (no matter if they "painted" their feet black or not) nor AI generated images.

This is one of my favorites that I have not seen in years now (originally not blurred out). I guess I downloaded it from his Yahoo Groups or Myspace site some 20 years ago. It is one of my favorites due to the background given at that time, if I remember correctly (no gurantee for that!):

The model was asked for a spontainous shoot when he met her shopping in a big city on a hot summers day. It might have been some time in the mid 90s. It was her birthday and she was out shopping with her family. She came from a neighbouring town and did not carry any shoes. She was more than happy to take some shots and had a lot of fun doing so. She was a 24/7 barefooter and recently came back from a week-long school trip to Berlin were she went without taking any shoes along. She painted her nails with national falgs of the countries she had travelled to. I would believe that she only travels barefoot without carrying shoes.

Really cool, Bremer. I remember those photos and loved the foot jewelry and ankle bells (any girl wearing bells or jingle anklets has to be doing so to draw attention to her bare feet, right?)

While the focus of his photos stayed on the models feet, the nature of his work really changed. In the 90s it seems to have mainly been barefooters in the city, looking for "true" barefooters with dirty, callused feet, now it is mainly scheduled shoots with models in cosplay/anime costumes with bare feet beeing part of the outfit the girls wear for the shoot.

That’s what I’m saying, if you have more of his 90s photos to share, I’d appreciate it. I really prefer his shots of random girls on the street to those of models he scheduled a shoot with.

I believe it is a very old pic, possibly taken during the 80s. If I remember correctly (no gurantee for that!) one of the girls is a hardcore barefooter that never wears shoes. He met her on the street and asked for a shooting. They hat much fun and scheduled a follow-up shooting to which she came with a friend of hers. The photos were taken in her familiy's buissness, a car repair shop of some sorts. She helped out there frequently, always working in her bare feet. Neither she or her family were worried about working barefoot in a car repair shop even though she had a deep, dirt covered cut from work on her foot which she did not seem to care about at all as she could not even tell how she got it:

He met the young woman on the following pics at a large music event (more an industry exhbition than a festival, I believe) that took place in cologne/germany annually during the 90s. The girl had the most dirty feet he had seen to that date, not only for her stained soles but also due to the tops beeing dirty. The phtoto seems not to show properly how dirty her feet actually were. She had not washed her feet for several weeks when the pic was taken and she was not planning on doing so in the forseeable future:

This was a scheduled shooting with a "true" barefooter. She came to the shooting on her motorbike. She habitually rode her motorcycle barefoot, to school and all. Riding a motorbike barefoot in city traffic was of no concern to her:

Taken at night at Rudolstadt Music Festival, both girls were barefooters from Berlin but only the one in the black skrit came without taking shoes along. Their feet were extremly dirty and calloused and she one without shoes frequently traveled barefoot without taking shoes along:

Out of the many 1000s of pics Burkhard posted over two-and-a-half decades I have had saved those five due to the rememberable backstories.

I think how those cosplay shoots work is he just goes to conventions and just asks to photograph people, 99% likely aren’t barefooting there, just shoes off for 1 pic

He posted an additional interview with her in German on his TikTok channel. Larissa lived barefoot without even owing any shoes for 5 years. She got used to the cold german winter and to people staring at her. She even looked for a job specifically that allowed her to work barefoot. Recently she changed back to wear shoes.
