If you look at Burkhards Instagram, you will see that he recently added photos from Oktorberfest. Burkhard frequently travelles to Oktorberfest and similar large beer fests to take pictures of young women in traditional bavarian clothes. Barefooting is not a topic during this shootings as the Oktoberfest is known for beeing extremly dirty with extremly nasty floors - partly because after the bomb explosion by terrorists in the 80s, organizers generally do not porvide any rubbish bins anymore.
The floors are to a large part covered in broken glass, piss and vomit. This is always a topic in local media as organizers seem to be unable to improve this situation. Some areas have been named "vomit hill", "puke ally" and likewise by the locals.

Seeing this current pics, I remembered one more story Burkhard told me when I had asked im about his photos when I frist saw them in the early 2000s:

During one of his visits to oktoberfest in the late 90s/early 2000s, he surprisingly saw a young woman in bavarian traditional clothes walking barefoot among the mess at oktoberfest. She was visiting with some friends of hers, did not bring any shoes along and did not seem to care to walk among all the broken glass, spilled food, vomit, piss and other stuff lying around. Sadly, she was very drunken and Burkhard did not manage to have a understandable conversation with her and only managed to take 3 snapshots:

"Love Parade" was a huge techno music event in the center of Berlin during the 90s/2000s. During its high times around 99/2000, more than 1.5 mio visitors came to love parade in Berlin. Barefooting there was extremly uncommon and unexpected as there was lot of broken glass and other rubbish that millions of party goers left behind. Burkhard frequently came to love parade to take photos of young women in fancy techno-party-costumes, gernerally not barefooted due to conditions at love parade. Still, over the years he visited love parade, he saw and photographed some women that went to love parade barefoot. They all came to love parade from towns outside of berlin and took no shoes with them.
I still remember the girl on the first picture cut her foot and had to borrow a pair of shoes from her sister afterwards, but she could not bring herself to wear them.

Well, I guess you have to take pics over 4 deacdes and post thousends of them online. And I guess also you do not want to become Burkhard 2.0, for the most german barefooters he is not the photographer, but the stange guy who since 25 years reliable annoys any female barefooter on german social media asking for pictures....

I only briefly looked at them, but to what I understand: The girls in the first video were met in the city by coincidence and they tell him that they walk barefoot often during summer. The other videos were planned shots

I find it kinda funny how half the time we’re praising Burkhard, other half were taking the piss

I believe it is a very old pic, possibly taken during the 80s. If I remember correctly (no gurantee for that!) one of the girls is a hardcore barefooter that never wears shoes. He met her on the street and asked for a shooting. They hat much fun and scheduled a follow-up shooting to which she came with a friend of hers. The photos were taken in her familiy's buissness, a car repair shop of some sorts. She helped out there frequently, always working in her bare feet. Neither she or her family were worried about working barefoot in a car repair shop even though she had a deep, dirt covered cut from work on her foot which she did not seem to care about at all as she could not even tell how she got it:

The things he writes in the description basically are a bit more detailed than what he told be years ago. I remebered that he took a shooting in Munich, but I was not aware that he travelled all the way across germany for the second shooting. Also I thought that the models were very young, but did not know that he met their parents to make sure they were OK with the pictures. Also thought they might have been taken in the 80, but I was wrong there.

Not necessarily related to Instagram, but does anyone have/remember the photo of the girl riding on a guys shoulders wearing a bright green mini skirt, her feet were jet black. looks like it may have been at a rave or festival during the day time.

I remember that pic clearly, I believe it is not as old as the early "burkhard pics" but still I saw it quite some years ago the first time. Maybe I can still find it on an old HDD....
