If you want the blackest possible soles, take a journey on an older underground metro railway in a large city. The black dust is oxidised skin particles from generations of travellers. London I can vouch for -soles as black as charcoal!

Rome is a bit too far from my hometown (around 500km).. I never shoot there. Milan is much nearer (160km), and I managed to take some barefooted shots of a model of mine (to be featured in a future update at BAREFOOT URBAN GIRLS) in the metro. The security of the metro in Milan does not see such "shootings" with favour (I am being euphemistic), so it's unlikely that I will repeat the experiment. -------------------- |
