@ Timonenkarkku: AMANDA is without any doubt among the most popular models featured on BAREFOOT URBAN GIRLS.
It is really a pity that her modelling career was a brief one: I held just two winter shootings and a summer one (from which this picture was taken) with her, before she quit posing. The reason? A very common one.. jealous boyfriend.
I have made some attempts at getting her back to modelling.. without any success, unfortunately.

I've said this on Flickr about the delectable Sofia Barefoot-Pinay also. I find the variations in human foot form fascinating, and Amanda (like Sofia) has a proportionally large talus which makes her foot less triangular than that of many other European women. That means she would be a good runner, and also be able to wear men's trainers in her size without getting horrible heel blisters.

OTOH, she has a trim ankle, not thick!

I was under the impression that Japan was one country where recreational barefooting would never happen, because of the involved hygiene rules (no outdoor shoes indoors, special slippers for the toilet, special socks for the tatami mats).

OTOH, I've already come across the experience of Japanese girl students running wild once they are out of Japan!. The seaside town in which I used to live had a large English language school near our house. The Japanese girls were being very Australian with the Italian boys, who could find it difficult to cope ("Hello Giovanni, I like you, you want sex with me?"). One boy from Benevento was in trauma after he phoned Mamma for advice and she just burst out laughing!

What the Italians did do, was to take up barefooting (some of them) and say "cazzo" all the time (all of them).

As for the conditions which allowed that solid layer of grime on UMA's and SWAMI's soles.. the perfect "sole make-up" results from a combination of:
1) Intensive urban barefooting in cities with lots of traffic (in Northern Italy: Verona, Bologna, Padua, Milan, etc.).. exhaust smoke particles make for terrific black soles! The other side of the coin, sadly, is polluted air..
Soles rarely get that black in Venice.. no cars, only relatively few motor boats, less pollution.
2) Municipalities not being obsessed with regularly cleaning streets and sidewalks.. Bologna is a great example of cost-cutting in this respect..
3) Long periods of dry weather.. a condition which is not uncommon in Italy in the summer.

Amanda is the absolute best...I'm so sorry about her jealous boyfriend...because we had a winner here....beautiful from her head to her soles...

I always love to see more of Alyssa (and her toe ring)!
