It truly sucks to be a hater of polished (and French pedicured) toes in an era where at least 99% of women out there have polished or French pedi feet. This was not the case in the 1980s or 1990s....it was more like 50% in the 80s and 60% in the 90s. The rise of nail salons all over the world certainly must account for this. I find polished toes and French pedis so unattractive that I've asked women I've dated to keep their socks on when we're together in privacy.

Natural toes and feet (no polish, no weird looking French pedicure crapola, no rings, no tattooes, no anklets) have the opposite effect for me - in fact the 1 percenters of women out there I encounter may not even be the normal type of woman I pursue, but if they have natural feet, I pursue them. I know this post makes me sound like a misogynistic weirdo, but I thought this forum would be the best forum to write these comments. I feel isolated in a world that has gone pedicure crazy. Even women who don't wear any make up at all, including never get manicures, always have polished toes. It's like they would feel "unaccepted" if they didn't. There are 20 women in my office, from ages 23 to 65, and every last one always has polished toes.

I notice the same thing on the CityFeet and ChillyFeet sites - most girls have painted toes or French pedis. The last one I recall who didn't was Ira, the girl with wonderfully natural feet on the long train trip and later walked in the snow (about 6 years ago). She probably got snatched up by another lover of pure natural feet.

Thanks for the opportunity to vent. I'd be interested in hearing feedback, either on my side, or offering some sort of explanation as to why women are so freaking obsessed with getting "pedis" and having polished toes.

Man I miss the 80s and 90s. sad.gif

Yes, I feel similarly - polished toes are totally unattractive to me and kind of ruin the whole thing. I also have dated women who I shouldn't have, just because they make that choice, though I consider that to be a complete mistake on my part. I can sort of tolerate just a regular reddish polish, but anything beyond that is kind of like the woman vomiting on her foot and acting like it's not there. I find french pedi and nail art to be repulsive.

Women want to feel attractive and they feel that they have to adhere to standards that all women comply to. I also think that there is a cultural assumption that feet are gross and polishing the toes somehow covers their "grossness". This is too bad as some men particularly enjoy natural beauty.

I think with the right woman, one might be able to say that you have a preference.

Bingo! I Googled polls and articles on the Internet about women and their desire to always polish their toes and heard comments directly from them: 1) They do it to "feel pretty," 2) they do it because a session at the nail salon is an "affordable luxury," 3) they do it because they think their feet are "ugly."

So they lather on the polish or the French pedi, which medically can't be very good (nails do need to breath or they could be ruined forever). One can still go to a nail salon (as many men do - even men get "pedis" now....) and get their feet and toes tended to, fungus removed (if any) and nails buffed. I think buffed, shiny natural nails on women look extremely good, especially on tanned legs and feet. Buffing and shaping but keeping nails unpolished still allows women to fullfill 1, 2 and 3 above. But they seem to think colored polish is the only option (besides French pedis and nail art, which I agree is trashy looking), because all other women are doing it.

One time a woman asked me while hanging out at my apartment why I wanted her to keep her socks on. When I told her, she said "you're not the first guy to ask me to do that." You'd think they'd get a clue....there are plenty of men out there who hate polished toes. Some have just thrown in the towel.

I'm with you in preferring natural, unpolished nails. Some colors are okay (shades of pink, mostly), but I'd much rather see them with no polish. I definitely do not care for the french tips or nail art, either.

I will say, I tend to see more unpolished toes than you do. At least in my area, the ratio seems to be more around 75% polished, 25% natural, and I may be underestimating the natural numbers. I actually think that I see more natural toes now than I did on the '80s and '90s, but I guess that's one of those things that will vary with individual experiences.

Sorry, mate but for me it's polished every time. If a girl doesn't paint her nails then she's not a contender.

So, let the message go out from here today (as Tony Blair might have said); ladies, POLISH THOSE TOE NAILS.

Especially love the elaborate nail bar stuff like with flowers and other designs painted on.

Sorry fella.

Mike, different strokes for different folks. You have 99% of the women out there to choose from. So go for it.
