When I filmed the video "Jessica visits the Art Exibition barefooted" (==> Jessica`s pics) a girl inside the art museum suddenly walked up and gave me her telephone number. "I also love walking barefoot! I walk barefoot at least once a day.", she said. It was Sheha, and we met up a couple of days later to take photos.
(on a side note: A couple of years before that I had seen her walking barefoot in the city together with a female barefoot friend. I had a short chat with her and gave her my number but apparently she lost it and thus never called)

So here is her first barefoot video and it even shows how tough she is by showing how she crushes two burning cigarettes with her beautiful bare feet. She has her sweet toes polished dark red and is wearing traditional Indian pants which look great in combination with her bare feet. She starts off by walking across a skateboard area and the camera follows her bare feet. Then she stops at a traffic light and shows off her dirty soles, then crosses the street and stops at a shop selling sun glasses. She stops to look at them and does not notice a still burning cigarette lying on the street near her feet. I ask her if she dares to crush the cigarette and she has no problem with this. Sheha steps on it a couple of times and then shows her sole and the part of her skin which is slightly burned and covered in ash. Then she continues walking along the busy street and turns into a stony path next to a hotel. The camera follows her and suddenly somebody calls her on her mobile phone, so she sits down on the sidewalk and while she is talking the camera films her gorgeous soles and red polished toes. When she has finished she then gets up and continues walking until she comes to a bench. Sheha sits down and lets you see some more of her dirty soles...I test out her soles and rubs them with my thumb to see what they feel like. Then she gets up and walks some more along the busy road, crosses a large street and walks to a backyard. Here Sheha smokes a cigarette and then crushes it with her beautiful bare feet, and shows off her tough sole afterwards.

I recall seeing a barefoot, young black woman with a couple of friends walking on Second Avenue near St. Marks Place in Greenwich Village (NYC) some years ago. It was a cool Fall day (high 50's). I was also barefoot (of course!). I walked up to her and complimented her footwear. Her friend said she never wears shoes. They were visiting from Atlanta. I got the impression that the barefoot woman and her friend, at least the one who spoke to me, were more than just friends. Her feet weren't very dirty, but they were very calloused. She was a true barefooter from the looks of her soles and sides.

It is rare to see a black woman barefoot in stores, streets, etc. Not passing judgment, just stating fact based on experience.

Yes, I agree. I only know of two other black women who walk barefoot regularly....one is a 30 something mother in my suburb and the other is Angelique.
Below are two new photos of her...I just updated my website with a new set from her. She has some very tough soles...especially the sides of her big toes and outside of her soles.
