Hello Folks, I want to share a memory of a girl who was a good friend of mine. Unfortunately she moved to Spain some years ago. She was a real barefoot girl. Not an extreme one, like barefooting in winter or such, but in Summer when the weather was nice, she often came to visit me in her dirty bare feet wink.gif
The small town I live in, mostly has streets made of concrete. So thats was what she had to walk on when she went barefoot. But I wanted to know how tough she really was. Once we went to the train station, pretending to be late, I told her that I knew a short cut to the station. It really was a short cut but it contained 100 meters of gravel path. But it was not a too sharp kind of gravel. The gravel started to slow her down. She said " Common. Not so fast. Im barefoot". So it seems to me, that not just walking barefoot all day makes a girls feet tough, but also on which kind of ground she does it. Maybe you can share your experiences. Especially DG2001 wink.gif

I have some memories on this.
Four years ago I had a girlfriend who walked barefoot all summer. She even took her shoes sometimes to walk barefoot in winter.
But she had the same problem as your girl walking by the country road with sharp gravel.
Another example is one more girl who spent less time barefoot (sometimes taking shoes for a small period of time), but she had no problems with gravel. Must say, she had tender pink soles with thin skin.

All depends on the girl and the way she walks, I think...

I think one of the main criteria is the shape of the foot/sole and the woman herself.

Some girls can have very tough soles and walk barefoot a lot, but still feel pain on sharp gravel. (maybe because they are more sensitive or their feet are boney/skinny)

Other girls only walk barefoot seldom but don`t feel much pain at all...for whatever reason (thicker skin?)

I have noticed this with Shirin, who walks barefoot most of the year and has leather-like tough soles...she is still pretty sensitive on sharp gravel.

Yeah, I intended this topic to become kind of a research by means of sharing experiences/menories of other women like the one I knew. But if you can start some more research DG2001, I wont hold you back wink.gif Or what kind of research did you have in mind smile.gif
One theory I have on that is, that she was so sensitive because she really had small feet. Maybe it sounds stupid but I think gravel does a higher impact on small feet than on big feet, because of the weight distribution on the smaller soles.
Another theory is that simply walking mostly on concrete does'nt make the soles of girl tough enough for gravel.
Or maybe it's total nonsense I am talking about now and it is as Hal Heaven wrote.
But again I have to say, since the first day we met, I had been wating for two years for an opportunity to put her feet on challenge. And I was really surprised to see her being that sensitive and that vulnerable in that moment.
So, guys out there, keep on sharing your experiences.

I don`t think it is nosense.
If a girl walks a lot on gravel instead of concrete I am sure that she will eventually become less sensitive and her soles will become tougher.
But other factors are going to play a role as well (for example small feet, skinny feet, thick/thin soles, etc.)
Every human is different.

My ex-wife was "always" barefoot from 1970-1976, the first four years at a four year college in NC the last two at grad school in north FL. Her skin type is on the dry side and thick. Her hands were tougher than mine and I used my hands all the time, even built our house. So anyway her feet were off the tough scale. With her skin being dry and lacking oil her soles felt like at very hard surace, she said "like a wood table top". What they were was very hard, thick human leather, you could not pinch it. The balls of her feet were easily 1/4" thick and her cracked heel ridge was 1/2"+. She has high arches, but even they were on the tough side and she would joke with me that he arches were tougher than my heels and I was barefoot a lot, but she was right. Anyway...she could walk barefoot on any surface or temperature.

She got a wild hair up her ass and wanted to soften her feet up with lotion. She would treat them at night and put socks on. As her feet got softer she became more sensitive to rocks, even though they were just as thick as before. I guess like a hard leather shoe sole would offer you more protection than a soft flip flop sole. She stopped the treatment wink.gif

That's what I have to add to the study....Thick and Hard is Good.

Sorry guys, no pictures. She has all the family pics and there were no close ups anyway. This was long before digital cameras.....Terry

Here's an opion. I've dated a couple of gals that loved walking on "sharp". They both could walk on broken glass, but only one liked putting out cigarettes barefoot. Then there was the 3rd one. She wasn't too great on gravel. She liked being barefoot as much as possible, but loved putting cigarettes out barefoot. SHe even bragged about doing it. Even if she had shoes on and there was an ashtray near by, she cross her legs take her shoe off and put the cigarette out on her heel. Yet she had very pretty soft looking feet. You figure. Mine was not to question why, just enjoy the view. Check out my new post on the main board. I have some pics of one I just alked about but don't have them scanned yet.
