In theory the weather we've had in the UK over the last few days should have meant a glut of barefoot girl sightings - it would have done 20 or 30 years ago.

However, sadly, this heatwave has not thrown up one barefoot girl as far as I've been able to see anyway.

Anyone been luckier or better still got any shots?

SO disappointing! What is it with women these days!?

Yeah very disapointing, however, I've a theory! I actually went out in the garden barefoot when it was boiling hot yesterday and it was nearly impossible to actually walk on the ground as it was so hot!

So I think it was almost too hot for girls to be barefoot. I had my eyes peeled around all the places I normally see barefooters in Bristol and nothing! So annoying!

Nice one.
Weather remains good here in the UK but really worrying signs that girls have gone for the Winter in Summer look with many younger women opting for trainers and socks in hot weather; girls, this is not a good look, get 'em off.

Wouldn't have happened in the 1980s: now I look back this was a golden era for barefoot girls.

Anyway, keep the sightings coming in.

Asolutely, though maybe the 70's were even better

If we are talking about the UK, maybe the second half of the 60s should be remembered as the Golden Age of Glamorous Barefooting.
Top models like Jean Shrimpton and movie/music stars like Jane Birkin could be seen barefooting in the street back then.
London was the pop culture capital of the world in the Swinging Sixties.
It was in the 60s, and especially in the UK and in France, that barefooting was made fashionable by such stars like Brigitte Bardot
who dared to go barefooted at Maxim's in Paris with her then-husband Gunther Sachs.
Leaving aside my personal issues with some UK chaps here in the Forum, I have deep respect for the pop culture heritage of the UK,
and it's great when current UK female celebrities can be seen barefooting around!
