I like Ekaterina from the Blond in a Black Dress series. What follows is a humble attemt to interpret the first episode. How do you "read" it?


Ekaterina´s Dilemma


Barelegged and barefooted Ekaterina is walking slowly along a late summer Moscow street. Looking at her black dress, anyone can tell that a few minutes ago she must have been sporting tights and pumps. What passers-by cannot know is the fact that she had to get rid of the footwear at her GP´s surgery during a routine check-up! The doctor diagnosed her with a mild case of bunions on both feet and as a result suggested that she should walk barefoot by way of therapy. Ekaterina is an elegant young woman and doesn´t like the idea at all because she hates it when her looks are not perfect. With her feet bare and dirty, her glamour will be gone, she despairs. On the other hand, she dreads the operation the doctor threatens her with far more. That´s why she is now walking barefoot along a cold and coarse pavement, hoping such ordeal might help her keep those big toes in relatively good shape.

At the beginning she is not that convinced, though, and even dials her boyfriend´s mobile phone number because she wants to ask him to pick her up and take her home in his brand new BMW. Then an image of a sharp scalpel crosses her mind; she quickly hangs up and starts walking again. Her feet are getting colder by the minute, which she finds uncomfortable, and dirtier, which she hates. No wonder then that she wants to borrow a city bike at least...

Checking the bicycles, she notices a man who looks flabbergasted by the nudity of her sexy extremities. She smiles to herself, having regained her self-confidence. She is perhaps more attractive with her bare feet than she is in her high heels! She is now her true self once more, confident and well aware of her ability to make men follow her everywhere with their eyes glued to... well... her soles this time! Incredible! Luckily, it has been raining and there are still a few puddles around. She will try stepping into each of them. Yes, it is going to be cold, but, who knows, it might well keep her feet cleaner too!
