Any barefoot on subway stories to share? I have one - in the more relaxed (regarding public barefooting in America) 1990s, I went to an outdoor day long music festival in Washington DC. It was about 100 degrees that day and when I returned home on the MetroRail, I noticed this very cute, early 20s, girl who was walking towards the metro station in bare feet. I could tell her soles were filthy while she walked down the street towards the Metro station. She then entered the station, totally oblivious to the "shoes and shirts required" sign. None of the station attendants stopped her - the station was too crowded.

Walking on the sooty metro platform made her soles completely black. I got close to her and then struck up a conversation about the 9 hour concert. Then I asked her about her bare feet. She told me she decided that morning not to "bother with wearing shoes" since it was going to be so hot. So she spent the entire day - over 9 hours including the metro rides- going barefoot at this concert festival. Her feet were nicely shaped too - long and large with unpolished toenails. Sad to say I couldn't work up the never to ask her on a real date but the foot show was great on the metro train.
Nearly 20 years later and I still remember this experience, my interaction with her and her feet.

Funny this sould come up!
I was coming home from a date with my girlfriend on Saturday, when I saw a barefoot girl in the subway station. She was even carrying her shoes! Sadly, she walked in a different direction from me.
Oh, she wore long pants and a t-shirt, and she had short black hair.

In the early 90's I met this barefoot girl in Washington Square Park (NYC). She was barefoot and had tough, filthy feet. She had to be late 20's in age, tank top and cutoff jeans. She told me she liked going barefoot and picked up the habit from her older sister who was a 'true hippie'.
Eventually we went down into the West 4th Street subway station and she put on a pair of dirty flip-flops because she was afraid of picking up bad things on the subway. What? :-) I was also barefoot and had no problems or fears at all.

One time I rode the subway out to Coney Island. A few stops prior to Stillwell Avenue a barefoot girl got on. Her soles were somewhat dirty. She got off at Stillwell (Coney Island). I do recall seeing one barefoot bbw on the street at CI but not on the subway.
