Paul Today's grand adventures involved playing cabbie to my neighbors who needed a ride downtown to run some errands. Like always, I went barefoot. My neighbors are accustomed to my eccentricities, but people in this small town always look back at the town's resident barefoot girl and wonder what happened to her shoes. The stares make my neighbors laugh. Once we got home from running errands, I documented how black my feet had become. Their blackness met with my approval. After errands came play time. I hopped on a quad with my cousin and we drove through back roads until we reached the peak of the highest hill in the area. I looked over the landscape, at the gently rolling hills, the farm houses, and the small towns. Just like in the Lion King when Simba looks out from Pride Rock at everything the light touches, I was the ruler of this land. I am the barefoot queen of this narrow minded community. It's good to be me. -------------------- |

Very nice
![]() Looks like it's getting chilly there. But still barefoot. You are too cute. I noticed the last shot, standing on the rough gravel. You must live in clean area, those weren't exactly black soles,,hehe Was this a start to the assignment? |

I wasn't doing much walking, mostly driving. That's about as black as they ever get here though. The soil is very light, and it's a small town, so there's not much pollution.
Yes, this was a start to my assignment. -------------------- |

Very good job, can't wait to see future installments.
What next for our viewing pleasure? and for black, always find a greasy parking lot, ![]() So, what do you when the snow starts flying? Do you break down and wear footware? And how'd that rough gravel feel? Do you live on a farm? Do you do chores barefoot and if so, like what? |

I've had a request to show how immune my feet are to pain by roasting them with a hair dryer. I'm thinking about doing that next, but I'm not sure. I might hold off for a bit to gauge viewer response first.
When it snows, I walk barefoot in the snow as much as possible, but I do have to eventually wear boots or stay inside if I want to not die of hypothermia. It makes me really sad to not be able to have free feet as much in the winter season, but I do let them get a little freedom by walking in the snow where it isn't very deep. I can go a few hours without shoes on in the snow without any major repercussions. The gravel felt amazing, similar to an exfoliating scrub I would use on my face. I run a 5k every morning on the same gravel road. -------------------- |

I don't know about the hair dryer. That would hit some areas were the callouses aren't.
5k daily run on gravel barefoot, wow. You must some thick callouses. I've seen a gal step on thumb tack before without it bothering her, those were thick callouses. I like to see you grind a cigarette out, like Sveta did in the last update. And see how long takes before you notice it. We used to have a model, Nina, who used to do a slow grind out on heel after she got the cherry of the cigarette bright red. She also used to play around a camp fire barefoot and hold the burning end of a stick to her heel. Did you see some of the "extreme" series? |

You´re really a barefoot Queen! Your feet are beautiful, and your soles look gorgeous when dirty.
So you'll test your soles agains heat? Wow, you rock! -------------------- Regards

Even where the callouses are absent, my feet don't feel pain. I stepped on a thorn yesterday while out romping around and I didn't even notice until I came inside and had my feet propped up on my desk. Pain is not a factor for my feet, so I have to be very careful to pay attention to my body's other physical responses, such as bleeding and blistering, to know if I am actually causing harm. That is still a difficult thing to accomplish, though.
I did see the extreme series. My feet don't have incredibly thick callouses, so burning sticks would probably still burn my feet. I just don't feel pain in them, so I wouldn't feel them. I'm not a fan of causing actual injuries to me feet though. They are my most important tool, my most prized possession. I know my limits, and I rarely push them without great cause. Daily 5k runs are just my way of life. I've done that every day since I was 12, rain or shine or snow. My dad became very concerned that I would roll my ankles and injure myself in so doing, so he tried to make me wear shoes. That didn't go over well at all and eventually he gave in and stopped trying to prevent my barefoot ways. He preferred that I wear shoes, of course, but he stopped actively preventing my barefootedness by the time I was 14. I do all of my farm chores barefoot, except when there is more than 6 inches of snow. I have to wear boots then because I will get hypothermia. But when there is not snow, I chase cows, garden, and even climb barbed wire fences barefoot. I'll post pics of that in a future installment of my barefoot diary. I will test my soles against heat, but I'm still not sure the hair dryer is the way to go. I may have to wait until summer - fry an egg on the sidewalk while I stand there barefoot. ![]() -------------------- |

Great stuff
Would love to see you show off your feet in public. To show how proud you are of them. After all they are your "most prized possession!" May I ask who takes you pictures. Is there someone special in you life to share your feet with Thanks so much for sharing! |

Again, fascinating story.
It's so nice to hear the daily accounts from a barefooter, rather than to just see photo's. And, yes by all means don't do anything that causes injury! It's all about ability and inuring. My fascination and intrigue is with a beautiful feminine gal going barefoot and being to do things barefoot effortlessly without any consiquences. The contrast of the two. Beauty and toughness. If any injury or discomfort is involved, it's a major turn off. Since you have either a high pain threshold or lessened sensitivity like you said, you said you have to be carefull not to injury yourself since it doesn't hurt. Still in all, 5k daily on gravel. That's pretty tough. Maybe not in your standard. But 5k daily for years can ware tires out, thus along your soles. These girls walk over 100 yards of gravel and start light footing it. You run 5k daily and think nothing of it. Very impressive. |

I never really have an opportunity to take barefoot pictures in town, but I'll keep an eye out for times when I can.
I have various people take my pictures. It's mostly my roommates, neighbors, and some cousins that have taken pictures in the past, and will likely continue to be that way for the next little while. I do have a someone special, but he is far away at college. ![]() Yes, of course I'm going to post barbed wire pictures! Here's one now, to get you through until my next post.
