With all due respect, you have made your feelings toward Julia known to all. Paul graciously and of his own time made the effort to contact her. Apparently she is no longer interested in being photographed. May I suggest you understand that and be thankful that Paul did try to oblige you and others. If Julia is not interested, we must respect her and move on.

It's rather obvious, I think, that "should yoiu hear from Julia" means "IF" he ever hears from her...I'm not telling him to go and to continually pursue her..because yes, if she's not interested then that's that!! But the purpose of making threads like these and making the posts is what gives a forum such as this some life..at least I brought up her name...sparked a little interest in a one time favorite, who coincidently, still leads in a poll here..And by the way, I AM GRATEFUL for Paul's attempts in getting in touch with her..now you do some posting and keep this place alive.

OK, challenge accepted! I'll post a short story. I wish I had more like this.
We've had a heat wave here in NYC early this week. I went to Coney Island,
hung out on the boardwalk, arcade and shops. If anyone is barefoot, it's
usually those who just come up from the beach to buy a hot dog at Nathan's
or drink. I saw this young woman in cutoffs, tank top and very dirty feet.
She had a couple of toe rings on each foot and leather ankle bracelets
just like mine. I saw her walking along the boardwalk, and I said "I see
we like the same color shoes!". She told me her name was Cheryl and that
she was from Virginia. She was 22, staying in a college Master's program.
She was visiting an aunt. She went to her classes barefoot and even had
few problems barefooting in high school. She even hiked the Trail barefoot.

I told her it was so unusual to meet barefooters in NYC. She had no time
to make friends in the two weeks she was here and would be returning home
in a couple of days. We compared soles, hers were very tough and filthy.
Just like mine, her tops were dirty too. We hung out for a while, had a
hot dog and I left for home. This was one of those very rare encounters
with someone who is a true barefooter. Too bad she wasn't staying.

Very good Barefoot Guy..good story..I liked it. It pays to be at the right place at the right time and making the most out of it!!

It's too bad this doesn't happen more often. It used to. That's how I met two ex-girlfriends. Barefoot, in Greenwich Village with dirty feet. I used to see at least 6 true barefooters in Washington Square or Tompkins Park. Not anymore. The surf is very high due to Hurricane Bill, so they closed the beaches at Rockaway and Coney Island past two days. I certainly do recall years ago seeing barefoot girls at the Stillwell Avenue subway stop. Again, no more.

There was a heat wave here in North Germany as well...on wednesday I saw at least 20 barefoot girls without even looking for them...they just kept crossing my path while I was in the city. At one point two different barefoot girls walked past me into different directions...I didn`t even know where to look.
At night I was hanging out in front of a club with a couple of friends and it still didn´t stop...barefoot girls were walking past even still past midnight...and they weren`t carrying shoes either...they had left the house barefooted.
It was a dream day!

Julia is the Queen of barefooters. Her vid wearing that yellow top and riding the metro is my fave.
