have been to germany a few times different cities each time but never a barefoot girl to be seen

Oh I lived in Germany for a few years, in the early 90's in Nurnberg. I saw chicks going barefoot often enough that it was hardly like, oh my god that chick is barefoot. Especially around the hauptbahnhof, lots of punks & hippies with really filthy feet and no shoes in sight. And nobody gawking at them too. Which brings me to another thought... New York. NYC's crazy right? Anything goes right? You may see the occasional girl who's taken her shoes off at the end of the night, that's it folks. Ok I saw a tourist backpacker girl who looked Dutch or something barefoot in the Union Square subway. That's the best I saw in 6 years! How sad is that?

Yup, that's the way it is here in NYC unfortunately. In 6 years since I've moved here, I've seen a lot of drunk women carrying their high heels at 2am, but very few legitimate barefoot girls (although I saw a good one back in the early spring, a dreadlocked blond hippie walking down University with no shoes being carried).

I think in the US, you're more likely to see barefoot girls where it's warm year-round (SoCal) or where there's more of a hippie culture (college towns like Berkeley or Boulder). New York has neither the year-round warm climate or the hippie culture.

And even in Berkeley, I doubt it's anything like what one sees in Germany, which is a shame.

Maybe you guys should come over and visit my town....I will be your tourist guide and show you the best barefoot streets & places

We`ve been having some bad weather the last 1-2 weeks, but today it suddenly turned extremly hot and sunny....and suddenly there were bare feet everywhere.

I hung out with Katja today and took some pics of her. On one pic this guy was checking out her feet.
The tops of her feet were all dirty because she had walked through a muddy puddle an hour before.

About 20 years ago it was common to see 6 or more barefooters in Greenwich Village in NYC. I dated one I met after I said to her "I see we like the same color shoes!" as her feet were as filthy as mine. She often stood on my feet with hers if we were standing in a line. In Washington Square Park I'd often see barefoot women with very dirty soles. One woman, Jane, always had black feet up past her ankles. I think she was living in the park or street. Today, there no no barefooters to be seen. Rarely someone will slip off her shoes on the lawn or in the fountain.

I agree,, nice shots and some really nice tough soles. Is she 1 of the gals that can put out cigarettes barefoot? I'd love to see a nice shot of her doing that.

Those are great pics, Hal. Katja has that hippie look that goes great with the tough bare feet. It looks like she never wears shoes!

Yes, Katja is a free-minded hippy girl who walks barefoot most of the year. She is also one of the girls that can extinguish a cigarette with her hard soles. I have it on video somewhere.

She actually just left for a big hippy festival today and told me that there are tons of barefoot girls there....but unfortunately after 1-2 days the entire area is covered with dangerous glass from all the broken bottles that people throw/drop on the floor (which are only cleaned up when the festival has ended), so everybody starts to wear shoes for their own safety. Apparently there are always still a few hardcore barefoot girls who don´t even mind the bottles

And, as far as the hippie fest goes, that sounds like a video paradise. Especially toward the end to catch those super hard core who would be still barefoot on all the broken glass. That would better than you ever stage in a photo shoot.

I have it on video...it is part of a clip where she walks over some sharp gravel and other stuff. I´ll add it to my site some time in the future.

Yeah, that festival is probably a dream come true except if the girls cut themselves really badly....she said, that this happens as well because apparently it is a broken-bottle-nightmare. There also seem to be a LOT of drugs involved at that festival, which just makes people careless (the ones who drop the bottles and maybe also the barefoot girls...who knows).
I´m not a festival guy so I´ll probably never go there but next year I may give Katja a camera along so she can take some pics.

Oh, I agree. There's a big difference from ability and barefoot lifestyle to deminished capacity. And I would never like to see any injury in either event.
The camera idea sounds like it might work.
Katja sounds a little like Jenya. A barefooter and a photographic observer.

I see you have some model car crushing clips. What did you think of the ones I posted, where they did it barefoot on YouTube. That's got to take some strong/ tough feet the way they jumped on them and smashed them.
