Hi all,

Several of my fans suggested I take a look at this message board and I have to admit that I am very impressed with what I've seen. Many of you probably know of me from my web site many years ago and more recently my Barefoot Lifestyle Yahoo group as well as my Facebook and MySpace pages.

My YouTube Channel
My Facebook Page

Although the quality isn't as good as many of the video links I saw posted here, some of you may enjoy the videos I posted on YouTube which document my first year of serious barefooting back in 2002.

I would enjoy receiving any feedback you may have. As some of you know I freely admit that going barefoot and seeing others do the same is very exciting for me. Going barefoot with dirty soles is truly a way of life for me, and I value the opinion of those that share one or both of those passions.

Take care and keep em bare!

Melissa

Also, Welcome smile.gif
I saw your post last night and visited your YouTube. Some nice video's.
You said you've watched some of our video's.
Can you share any stories with us, and as in DG's reply, how inured have your soles become?

Hi Melissa,
I saw your interesting video on YouTube (but I can't access to the facebook page...)

The "Texas Renaissance Festival" is very interesting.

What about your barefooting : you are barefooting yet ?

How hardened are your soles : can you walk over difficoult sourface (sharp gravel,rocks,thorns..)

Let we know...

Thanks for the links, Melissa....I was a fan of your website a couple of years back when it was still online. Good to have you back.

Cheers,
-Hal-

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I am proud to say that my soles have become very tough and leathery from my years of barefooting. As many of you know I live in Texas so the summers here are very, very hot. I had trouble with hot parking lots and asphalt my first two years, but in my third summer I found it much easier to walk most anywhere regardless of the heat. For example, this past summer we had two consecutive months of temperatures over 100 degrees and I never once felt the need to wear shoes.

Glass is also not a concern for me, and I generally have stopped looking where I step when I go barefoot because I no longer have a fear of injury.

That said, my overconfidence will do me in occasionally, such as last fall when I stepped on lit cigarette and it burned my instep. I can handle lit cigarettes on my sole pads, but not my instep.

Looking back over the past seven years, I can honestly say that going barefoot has changed my life. I am more confident and feel sexier and more feminine than I ever did before I started barefooting. I only wear shoes at work now, and only then when I absolutely must. I am proud of my barefoot lifestyle and am raising my children to have the same respect and appreciation for it.

Take care and keep em bare and dirty!

Melissa

Excellant story/description wink.gif Melissa
I'm sure you've seen Olga Gavva's barefoot in St.Petersburg video, do you ever think you could do anything like her with the broken glass and cigarettes?

I think I speak for everyone, it is very nice to have you join our forum and hope you you feel very comfortable here.
I think you mentioned you have other friends that are barefooters, they are welcome here also. (Any single one's near Chicago? wink.gif )
