This summer, it's time to get in touch with your inner hippie.

OK, maybe not. But it pays to pay attention to local "hippie" and "pseudo-hippie" events, such as, for example, Earthfest.

Outdoor events that have to do with environment, support of local social groups, etc., gatherings with more or less hippie tint are a barefoot girl lover's paradise. They aren't always widely advertised, but they always draw young(er) crowd. And while you're guaranteed to run into a few "hairly legs & pits and unwashed smell, never touched a razor" types, the vast majority of girls that show up are cute, young, impassioned types - at least in urban areas.

Earthfest was a great example of it. Women couldn't keep their shoes on at that gig. I must've seen close to 50 barefoot girls - all young, attractive types you'd love to watch in public. Bring your camera - at these events nobody minds being photographed.

Also of note are events featuring Brazilian drums. These typically include a band of drummers (who are usually mostly male and thankfully shod) and dancers, who are typically female and barefoot! If you are extra-lucky, you'll also see a Kapoiera demo - hopefully, of course, done by a female... Yes, female kapoieristas do exist outside of Tekken, though they can be a rare sight - but if you are lucky enough to watch one in action, your eyes are pretty much guaranteed to pop out of your head
