Thanks - this is good. This is catching on and I am seeing more and more of it on more and more campuses and cities. I hope to see it continue to spread. I think April 16th is the main day when this is done. It is refered to as "One day without shoes", "taking the walk", or "walk for TOMS". Basically people go barefoot to see what it would be like for one day to get an idea of what it would be like for people who have to do it all the time. There are many girls that do this. They also seem extremely willing to pose for the camera to bare their soles since it is either fun or will help really help bring attention to their cause. Sometimes these events take place on other days of the year - it depends on when it is organized. The first picture came from a newspaper article. I wish I were a photographer for a newspaper at such an event!
