Hi guys,

Recently I found a singer who seems to like performing barefoot. She is Aurea from Portugal.

Here are some videos:

Many thanks for sharing these infos! smile.gif

Well, it's a trend which has been going on for quite a while (luckily! wink.gif ) among female performers.. Shakira, Joss Stone.. nothing new, after all.. SANDIE SHAW was already doing it in the 60s (sadly videos were less high-tech back then, and cameramen were not much into zooming on Sandie's great peds.. sad.gif ).

SANDIE SHAW performs barefooted "Long Live Love" in the late 60s

The sore point is that very often these ladies are barefooted "just" on stage, not in everyday life, but compared to "shod" female performers they are already.. many steps ahead!!! wink.gif

Another (very personal!) sore point is that the music these barefoot female performers sing/play is usually too vanilla for a guy into heavy metal like me.. laugh.gif I mean, Aura is deffo a super-hot lady, but the music.. blink.gif

Heavy metal is a male-dominated scene, female performers are scarce, and usually they are way more into boots than into barefooting.. sad.gif
But female barefooting sometimes creeps into the toughest metal.. check this official video of an old song by KREATOR, "Renewal".. there's some take-no-prisoners female barefooting there!!! rolleyes.gif

"Renewal" official video by KREATOR - EXTREME FEMALE BAREFOOTING!!! ;-)

Luckily Mille Petrozza (Kreator's leader) kept his boots on.. laugh.gif

Great post anyway, cheers!!! smile.gif

I'm terrible at linking otherwise I would post my findings here, look for Lori Carson a folk singer from New York in the 90's who almost always preforms barefoot, she has some videos on YouTube, Another singer who preforms barefoot is Lilly Allen. Unfortunately she removed many of her videos from YouTube, one in particular had her sitting on the edge of the stage singing a ballad, her dirty sole were quite visible as she slowly rocked her legs back and forth in time to the music.

There is a very attractive female trio from North Italy (Suedtirol) called Ganes. My girlfirend is a fan of their music wink.gif
They sometimes perform barefoot and they have a music video in which they dance & walk around barefoot in the city.

You can watch it here:

(The feet are visible after about 1 minute. You can even switch to full-HD)

@ Feetosopher: Kreator --- yeahhh! wink.gif

Are any of you guys aware of the band Nico Vega? The lead singer, Aja Volkman performs barefoot ALL THE TIME....she says it's "liberating"...and her feet get real dirty..she sits on the stage floor a lot and shows those black soles...she's unreal, and a great vocalist as well.

Good find Enigma, thank you!

This is part of an interview to Aja Volkman:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mihal-freinq...j_b_426589.html

MF: Aja, you always perform barefoot. It's raw, dirty, and I-don't-give-a-f**k...just like your music. Inquiring minds want to know: why barefoot?
AV: It's liberating. I only ever wear shoes on stage if my feet feel so numb that I might kick a mic stand without knowing it. With shoes on, I am hiding my natural movement. I love the way heels look on women, but I don't love the way most women move in heels - including myself. I don't like to be careful. Which means I cut my feet all the time on broken glass.
