Coming soon, "Soledad Descalza" http://vimeo.com/90428466 This great mockumentary about Soledad Paramo, a woman who decides to live barefoot, will be released in April. As a detal, Silvia Conesa, the actress who performs Soledad, became a part-time barefooter during the filmation. In the words of the producers: "Soledad Descalza" (Barefoot Soledad) goes beyond the documentary and fiction. We get close to a fascinating character who, with a little detail - never wearing shoes- questions the social uses of all her surroundings and motivates changes in people around her, such as her younger sister" "Soledad descalza" va más allá del documental y de la ficción. Nos acercamos a un personaje apasionante que con un pequeño gesto -nunca ponerse zapatos- cuestiona los usos sociales de todo su entorno y provoca cambias en personas de su entorno, como su hermana menor. You can also check it on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PrimeraTomaEstudioAudiovisual?fref=nf It will be released in April 2015.

More by the producer: SOLEDAD DESCALZA, AN ADVENTURE IN THE SKIN OF A DOCUMENTARY "Soledad descalza" (Barefoot Soledad) is the first movie directed by Spanish moviemaker and photographer Juan Carlos Martinez Rodriguez. It's a mix of a mockumentary (fake documentary) and narrative fiction that shows a one-year follow up in the life of Soledad Paramo, a 30 years old woman who always goes barefoot everywhere on her own will. This circumstances give place to multiple comic and dramatic situations starred by Soledad. The fact that the protagonist, performed by Silvia Conesa, goes barefoot, is the starting point for a tragicomedy which also deals with other things such as modern art, artistic creation, social manipulation and the role of communication media. Also emotional conflicts in the characters related to envy, lying and the limits of loyalty. The movie also stars Nuria Canovas (nemesis of Soledad) and Raquel Garod, an ambivalent character who reserves many surprises. Silvia Conesa got into the skin of her character and prepared herself by going barefoot everywhere for several weeks, and also during the filiming and the previous days. "Soledad descalza" and also be interpreted as a vision, sometimes satyrical, of present-day Spanish society. About forty actors have participated in this project, which also counts on soundtrack with songs from "La maniobra de Q" and "Leopart Skin" The movie has been filmed along one year, without public funding or subventions. It's a project entirely financed by independent producer Punto Visual. The premiere in Spain will be in April 2015. Juan Carlos Martinez Rodriguez has a very ample professional career in the audiovisual and movie sector. Actually he is also a teacher in Audivisual Production in Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Murcia (ESAD), a job he matches with diverse professional and artistic projects.

Do you know if this movie will be released outside of Spain (with a translation)? Do you have any pics of the woman walking barefoot (preferably also some pics of her feet)? In the trailer I could only see some really small images of her walking barefoot and unfortunately I don't understand any Spanish, so I didn't really comprehend what this movie is about. Thanks! -Hal-

I don't know if the movie will be released outside of Spain and other countries of Latin America. Maybe the OP can clarify it but I will tell you this seems VERY good! Take a look at the reviews and the Facebook page with posters: http://www.laopiniondemurcia.es/cultura-sociedad/2015/04/17/soledad-descalza-empieza-camino-cinematografico/640531.html https://www.facebook.com/SoledadDescalza?fref=ts Hopefully we can buy it soon. What do you think?

I don't care if this film has an English translation or not; I just want to see it! In fact, subtitles might cover up the feet, and we can't have that! ;-) Silvia Conesa is very lovely, and looks great barefoot.

Thanks for the links. The one film poster is totall awesome! This one: ![]() There is also a great music video (connected to the movie?), it's pretty cool with all the female band members barefoot: https://vimeo.com/102537958 Cheers, -Hal-

Yeah, subtitles are completely secondary. I mean, I speak Portuguese so I can understand a little bit of Spanish but even if they speak German I would want to see it, subtitles be damned! The problem is I don't know how we can do it. Do you think they will release the DVD and BluRay?

I saw this trailer several weeks ago after reading that it had something to do with a female barefooter but as the trailer shows very little in the way of feet, and the fact that I had no idea what it was about I completely dismissed this topic all together, so thank you so much @DG2001 for bringing it back up and explaining it for us and giving us some very useful links. My initial thought was "I wonder if this will have a translated version" but then thought about the horrors of subtitles cutting off the foot scenes, and to be honest I'm not too interestred in plot lines anyway. The female lead is very attractive and I'd really like to see this one when it's released. I'm really happy at recent mainstream films making "bare feet in public" appear more acceptable by not only just featuring barefoot actors, but actually making barefooters the focus of the film. We had "Barfuss" in 2005, "Barefoot" in 2014 and now this in 2015. I'm really hoping that this trend not only continues, but more importantly changes peoples opinions of the barefoot lifestyle so that more people actually get out there and live their lives without shoes, and without judgement.

Hopefully this silly vendetta against bare feet will come to an end as a result of this film, though more likely, maybe the film will start the ball rolling for the end of it. Hopefully the trend will go from the present glamorization and addiction to shoes and shoe fashion amongst young women and to the glamor and beauty of the female foot and the healthy qualities of the barefoot lifestyle.

Hi guys Glad you liked "Soledad Descalza" trailer, hopefully we can enjoy it online all over the world. There are no frontiers neither of countries nor languages when it refers to barefoot beauties. Hal, the poster and the video are superb! Thanks for sharing it. Yes, it's somewhat connected with the film, the director of "Soledad Descalza" produced the clip too, and others of this Leopard Skin band. And of course the actress of the movie is in the video too. Have a great weekend!

Great find, man! REALLY great! I'm dying to see this movie. Apparently Silvia Conesa is not the only barefoot woman in the movie. She is apparently the only barefooter though. An interesting fact is that the actress actually decided to go barefoot full time in real life to get into the role. Do you have any information if it will be released online in the future? Have a great weekend, everyone! |
