The thing about people like this man who wrote the article is this: They thrive on attention. They contribute nothing original or worthwhile to society and usually hate themselves. So what do they do? They try to tear down anybody who goes against the grain, and they also try to curry favor with whatever is the "in" thing. In this instance, going barefoot isn't something necessarily broadly accepted, so this waste of life "man" has to write a drivel-filled article attempting to tear this girl down in some lame attempt at building himself up. And it won't matter to him if he gets good or bad attention for doing it...if he gets ANY attention he'll feel "accomplished".
The best thing to do with people like this guy is to ignore him. Without any kind of attention, like the parasitic weed that he is he'll shrivel up and die. Society will move on, girls will still go barefoot, and he'll be forgotten all too soon.
