| For those who don't already know about this... There was an international awareness event a couple of weeks ago called "One Day Without Shoes" which was meant to raise awareness for parts of the world where people are so poor they can't even afford shoes. People in the rest of the world were asked to go an entire day without wearing shoes then share their photos and videos about the experience. Apparently it was a success as many people participated and have since posted about it. As a side benefit for us, there are now that many more photos and clips of participants proudly displaying their dirty feet. I've linked the main website below plus a few photos I found for those interested in having a look. I'm sure there's probably more out there on youtube, Myspace, Facebook and the photosharing websites, but I don't have time to do much looking myself. I saw several college-age girls participating on the main website, but you should browse with caution because it looks like some guys and younger teens participated too. Still, if anyone's got time to track down the good stuff and wouldn't mind sharing what you find here, I'm sure that would be appreciated. Happy browsing... http://www.onedaywithoutshoes.com/ <---main website http://www.flickr.com/photos/30501855@N08/3454656410/ <---not bad http://thirdelementstudios.fotki.com/toms-shoes--day-wit/day-without-shoes-95.html <---getting better http://thirdelementstudios.fotki.com/toms-shoes--day-wit/day-without-shoes-49.html <---much better http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4334618&id=57803086052 <---wow |

| Thanks for these Joe. It does take searching to find these so they are appreciated. I was fortunate enough to participate in one of these events. I went on a walk with about 50 participants - at least 35 barefoot girls. The girls were nice and really do want to change things in the world for the better. |

Despite the rather underwhelming response to this post, I thought I'd leave you with one last reminder to mark your calendars for next year's event. Do it for the cause or do it for fun. Just do it... |
