Guess what happened to me yesterday: late in the afternoon I was running to the pub to meet a couple of friends for a swift one when I glimpsed a young woman walking towards me. She had a smart coat on but no shoes! Sadly, she wasn´t completely barefoot but looking at her filthy tights was quite a treat too. I should also say that we´ve already had some snow here and that the average afternoon temperature has dropped considerably (now it is 2-4 °C). The lady didn´t seem to be struggling at all and happily walked past me towards the metro station.

She was with a dude who can´t have been one us because he clearly didn´t give a damn about her situation. I, on the other hand, couldn´t help it, changed my priorities and began to follow them. wink.gif She bought a ticket, went to the escalator and then waited on the crowded platform for her train. At that time she finally showed some discomfort: she kept flexing her toes and time to time tried to stand on her heels to avoid the contact with the freezing floor.

Then inside the metro carriage she remained standing, which allowed me to look at the tops of her feet more closely. She had her toe nails painted light blue and looked fantastic.

I also noticed that she had her pumps in her coat pockets. At that moment I approached her and offered her a few pieces of sticking plaster from my emergency first aid kit where I keep painkillers and so on. While that bloke looked as if he had no clue what I was talking about, she was absolutely adorable. She kept thanking me and explained that she was an international student who had just been at some function organised by her university. She then went on to say that her new shoes were killing her and that she chose to be barefoot so as not to damage her feet. She refused my help though because as she put it she was going straight home to get changed which wouldn´t take her more than a couple of minutes and that she was fine.

I arrived late at the pub but it was worth it!

What about you? Any similar stories to share?

On second thought, I must add that thanks to this woman, 2018 has been the longest year in terms of sightings. I glimpsed the first girl in the middle of March (yes, she was sporting minimalist sandals but in similarly cold weather) who was followed by a properly barefoot one at the beginning of April. In other words, there has been around eight fruitful months so far! wink.gif

Sounds great, thanks for sharing that with us.
I haven't had any spectacular sightings in really cold weather (at the moment it is around 3-5 degrees Celcius during the day) but I did see a tall hippie-woman in minimilistic leather sandas last week on a local flea-market, which I thought was quite cool. I could imagine that she is a regular hardcore barefooter in warmer weather but I didn't get the chance to speak to her. Hopefully I will see her again some time.

2018 was also one of the best year's I've ever experienced with barefoot sightings. I think my earliest one was also in March and the latest one in October.

Thanks for your reaction, Hal. Glad that your 2018 was also full of barefoot beauties!

As for sightings, I´ve learnt that the best thing to do is to visit vegan food festivals. There, you are bound to come across tons of barefoot vendors as well as visitors. wink.gif

^ Totally agree. I'm a vegan myself and have always seen barefoot women walking around at those festival biggrin.gif

PS. And also anything concerning enviromental issues (like rallies/demonstrations) in spring/summer.
My girlfriend and I went to a huge enviromental festival/demonstrations in early October and there were probably a couple of hundred (thousand?) barefoot hippies. I actually hadn't expected this around that time of year and it was pure luck to see so many -- the weather on that day had been cold in the morning (and people came with warm shoes) and then it turned super hot around noon, so most people removed their shoes & socks.

Posted by: bfwatcher Nov 25 2018, 01:59 PM
Wow! It must have been quite a sight! Hope that your girlfriend followed their example and walked barefoot too. wink.gif

Speaking of rallies, what happened in Paris yesterday could have yielded some barefoot women as well. By the way, any witness in here who´d be able to elaborate? smile.gif

Hal, I have a question: Is your girlfriend a barefooter? wink.gif What does she think about your fascination with dirty, bare feet? wink.gif

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Those 'yellow-jacket' protesters who violently clashed with the police in Paris yesterday?

Posted by: Hal Heaven Nov 25 2018, 08:50 PM
@Daniellowl: No, my gf isn't a barefooter like some of my hardcore models (who will walk barefoot 24/7 with super dirty-black soles) but she sometimes walks around barefoot outdoors in public (and will almost always do it if I ask her to). We've gone on day trips to other cities and she walked barefoot the entire day. She's definitely good at it and she has really pretty feet but she's not a true 100% barefooter.

Yeah, a silly joke. If there are anti-riot police around and if you are unfortunate enough to have mingled with them, you might end up running for it and loosing your shoes along the way. wink.gif

Posted by: Hal Heaven Nov 25 2018, 09:27 PM
^ Haha, okay. I was at first surprised by what you wrote because yesterday I read that most of the protesters definitely weren't open-minded barefoot hippie women (more the exact opposite -- aparently quite a few far-right thugs are among the protesters).

Yeah, nonviolent demonstrations like the hanfparade and hanfwandertag marijuana legalization rallies are great for spotting barefoot girls with filthy feet from walking along the dirty streets of Berlin and Vienna. Here in the USA, the best sightings of filthy bare feet I ever had were at the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations back in 2011 and 2012.

Hal, what are the names of some of the pro-environment rallies you are talking about? I'd love to try to find photos and videos from them on Youtube or Instagram or Facebook to see if I can find some barefoot hippie girls.

Posted by: Hal Heaven Nov 26 2018, 07:26 PM
The demonstration we went to was to save the HAMBACHER FORST, which is an old forest that is endangered to be torn down to mine coal. There were about 50.000 people at the demonstration (which was more like an open-air festival -- it was next to the forest).

The last decades I was also often at ANTI AKW demonstrations (anti nuclear protests) and there were always loads of barefoot women and the rallies were sometimes huge as well.

Other protests were pretty small and I guess there won't be any material online.

Good luck!

I also cannot remember that I have ever encountered a barefoot girl in really cold weather. Once I saw an elderly lady (guess she must have been around 60) in some quite "hippie"/"alternative" outfit waiting for a train in cold winter weather (on a snow day) completely barefoot, obviously not carrying shoes. Also I once met up with a woman who lived completly barefoot for several years. We had some conversation on facebook and as we lived close, we once met up for a coffe and some sightseeing in a close city. It was on a very cold and snowy frost day, but that did not bother any of us.

However, I know of 3 men in my neighbourhood that stay barefoot all year round and from time-to-time I encounter them on the steet.

A young girl in my neighbourhood used to be barefoot a lot and I saw here barefooting through autum and starting in early spring again when the ground was still frozen - however she wore shoes during winter.

Still, I know that hardcore-winter-barefoot-girls exist - remember some tv/paper-reports and internetconversations over the last few years. Still, I never met one in person.

I remember seeing a barefoot girl in New York City in chilly March weather. It wasn't raining or snowing, but I did need to wear a winter coat. She was probably a college student, with a rastafarian hat on and long bell-bottom jeans that made it hard to tell that she was barefoot (it was also nighttime, which made it a little tougher to see). As best as I could tell, she had more gray soles than black, but I was still impressed to see her with no shoes on. Otherwise, every other street feet sighting I've ever had has been May-September in warm or hot weather.

There's a Toes-In-Action video of Celeste walking around in snow. Not sure if she regularly goes barefoot in the snow, or if she just took off her winter footwear for the shot. It was also a different video in that Celeste's feet kept clean by the snow. No black toes to show off to the camera! tongue.gif

Thats truely a rare sight to you had there in NYC.

I have not seen the video of Celeste but there are many "staged" videos of barefoot girls in the snow - for me, it is also important to see pics/videos, that are not staged but that show the models in their "natural" barefoot lifestyle.
I am sure we all know Olga Gavva - always enjoy her videos as it shows a true winter barefooter, not only a model.

I remeber maybe 10 or 15 short stories in the media - tv or paper - over the last about 20 years about women, that are barefoot all year round. And maybe the same number about men.
I especially remeber 2 women, that I saw on tv maybe 15 years ago (independent of each other) that do not own and wear shoes at all - they both appeared several times in the media over the last 2 decades, the last time this year.

I personally had contact with 4 women from facebook groups or internet forums, that barefoot the year round. With three of them I had brief chats: one is a women of about 40, she did not own and wear shoes for 20 years, no matter what. The other 2 were young girls that still went to high school/started university and barefooted all year round but both put on shoes for a few snow days when frostbite on their toes started.
The other woman was about 50 and we even met once. She barefooted for about 5 years when we met and she also refused to put on shoes no matter what - even when this meant to get some frostbite. However, she had a job that made her put on safty boots once a week for a few hours.

Yeah, like I said, not sure if snow barefooting is normal for Celeste, but her summer barefoot style is good enough for me.

I’m also not into barefoot girls being in discomfort. Part of the appeal to me of hippies barefooting in the street is that it’s comfortable and easygoing. I don’t want to see frostbite toes (or burned toes). I just want to see toes turned black from street dirt because it feels better and is more stylish than wearing shoes.

Hi. Thanks for the thread and the stories. I also happened to be in Berlin just when there was a vegan festival. True, these event are a gem, this was a barefoot eldorado! I've seen tens of barefoot girls in a day. Just an example - look at the colour of her feet (sorry for the blurry snap, had just a split second to get it).
http://www.imagebam.com/image/9b8c831048451024
However, she gave everyone an opportunity to admire her dirty feet a bit later when she decided to wash her hands in the fountain. It took like a minute or so. Enough time to get a shot, this time in focus cool.gif

I actually have many photos, but find it a bit laborious to share them here. Do you guys know about some barefoot-candid-shots-sharing-platform/site, btw?

Hello there.. if you want to share pictures here in the Forum in their original format, I suggest that you set up a profile on Tumblr.
The URLs of pictures featured in multiple-picture posts on Tumblr terminate with the .jpg extension; if you click the "IMG" button here in the Forum,
and paste the URL of the picture in the apposite slot, the picture will be shown here in its original format.
Any online platform where URLs of pictures terminate with the .jpg extension will allow you to post pictures in the forum in their original format wink.gif

Posted by: Hal Heaven Nov 30 2018, 10:32 PM
^ Does Tumblr really keep the original format and compression? So if you upload a 10MB photo in 24 MP it will keep this exact size? That would be amazing!
I used Photobucket for over a decade but they kept getting worse (even the paid accounts) and kept reduzing physical size of the photos and also compressing them until they looked kind of crappy.
Now I always use my own website as an file-hoster to share photos, there I have 100% control over image size and compression.

@like_them_dirty: Thanks for sharing, would be great to see more.

Amazing! By the way did your friends tell you what made them go barefoot in winter? You know, I understand why they do so in summer. Walking barefoot is pleasant because feeling all sort of textures under your soles adds more variety into our mundane life. On the other hand, why would you go barefoot in subzero temperatures and risk injury? It´s horrible. I´ve already tried it and after couple of minutes it hurts real bad. Your toes are swollen in no time and apart from pain you don´t feel anything. In other words, could your friends have been into SM practicies and this self-inflicted pain was part of it? Or was it just about stretching their limits?

Hello mate.. I fully agree with you about Photobucket.. it deffo sucks.
When I still used Tumblr to host my promotional pictures (which are 1800 pixel on the longest side), it did keep the original format. I think it still does.
I have switched to my own website for image hosting for the same reasons that you mentioned.. wink.gif

me neither - barefooting should be about pleassure, not pain. However, I am somewhat impressed by people that say "sure, barefooting through winter is painfull, but it is still the more comfortable alternative than shoes".

I would not really call them "firends", but I have been lucky to have had the oppertunity to talk so some women and/or Girls that barefoot through winter.

I dont think any of them felt any pleassure in the pain, actually the opposite - they all admited that barefooting through the winter is difficult, unpleasent and even painful. They all would say that you can get used to low - even freezing - tempertures, but that it will be extremly unpleasent once there is snow, especially for long periods of time outside.

For the young girls I believe that they mainly wanted to be very different from the mainstream. Both actually had some trouble resulting from their barefooting, one had problems with her parents (that was even the reason why she moved out once she turned 18) but was supported by her school, the other girl had a huge conflict with school and School authorities but stayed barefoot anyways and was supported by her parents. In the end, both of them managed to stay barefoot throughout the winter despite this problems. Both took some care of not getting frostbite but could manage to get through the year with only 3 or 4 days of wearing shoes. Still, both admitted that at times, barefooting through the cold winter days is uncomfortable but that there is nothing that can be done about that for they are barefooters.

The older woman is very strict in her barefooting, she would never ever put on shoes. She says it is extemly painful for her on the extreme snow days, but that it is still less painful for her tham putting on shoes. She says she is barefoot "no matter what" because she is a barefooter, she wants to be barefoot for ever and that part of beeing a true barefooter is to also suffer some bad consequences, which are still the better Option than beeing forced into shoes. She would not pay any Attention to the weahter or the danger of frostbite, but still told me that sometimes is was so painful that she wished not to be a barefooter - but as she is a barefooter, there is no way around some painful and uncomfortable moments. She suffers frostbite from time to time and had some bad frostbite 2 or 3 times (a few years ago when we met up). She told me, that sometimes she is really afraid when she listens to the weather forcast in the evening and they talk about deep frost and snow the next day and she knows that she will have to spent a time on that day, and that her feet are just extremly painful on some days - but as she cannot put on any shoes as a true barefooter, she will manage to suffer through it.

I am barefoot also all winter, but not 100% of my time, and I somewhat admire how strict she is in her barefooting, even not owing shoes for about 15 year by now.

@Feetosopher: As I read your post I just laught. Yes, it looks that we are the same person. But believe me or not, I visit this forum for many years and this was the reason I had to post my pics, because I attended the same festival (I think its the biggest one in Europe) and must confirm that there were many barefooters. :-) For image hosting I wanted to use Tumblr as you or someone else recommended, but I didn´t want to register there. Imagebam was just an easy way how to upload them as I looked into previous photos.. wink.gif

I also visited this Festival once :-)
No Fotos though, went there for Food actually, not so much for taking pics :-)

The Aurillac festival seems incredible. It’s a music and street art festival, near Auvignon, in July, and, from what I saw on youtube, on Rikedenimes page, it’s full of barefoot hippie girls, with black soles everywhere....

In other words, there has been around eight fruitful months so far!  wink.gif

Here I am with another report. Yes, you´re right, there has been the first sighting of 2019!

Today in the afternoon when I was going home from the office, I saw a group of three people walking towards me. And I was lucky! Given the fact that the street was rather crowded I could have easily missed them. Well, I did not!

In my opinion, they were a mother (in her mid forties), her twenty-something daughter and a guy who must have been the daughter´s boyfriend. Barefooted was the girl.

Wow. She was quite tall and slim with wavy brown hair reaching her shoulders. She was carrying brown cardigan folded over one arm and a huge black backpack. She´had on only a plain red T-shirt and a pair of baggy dark blue corduroy trousers, rolled up to expose her ankles. As for feet, they were quite big and wide, no varnish. What really struck me was her abilty not to give a damn that she didn´t have any shoes on. It was simply amazing how fast she was able to walk! And she must have been walking a lot as her soles were black!

Why was she barefoot? My theory is that she had problems with her boots. She was carrying them tied to the backpack and they looked brand new.

And yes, the weather. It was sunny but still rather cold. I checked a wall on the sunny side of the street and it was lukewarm, walls in the shade were still freezing though. I guess that the same could have been said about the cobblestones as well.

And you guys?

You are a lucky guy, @bfwatcher! smile.gif
Where did you record the sighting? (if you cannot disclose the city, please disclose at least the country.. smile.gif )
As for me.. well, it's tough for me to spot any barefooting beauties if I have to stay at home doing exercises to get my left arm fully operational,
in view of the 2019 shooting season.. sad.gif

Well, a tricky question, isn´t it? Let me put it this way: I´m from one of the Slavic countries. Sadly, not from Russia because if I were, I would have made friends with Paul and ran his PR department, participating in all his sessions and then writing reports on what was going on during each scene. wink.gif

As for your arm and sightings, you don´t have to be that concerned. AMELIE has already agreed to walk barefoot again and that will sure make up for a somewhat later beginning of the season, won´t it? wink.gif

My first real sighting for 2019 war on the 26th of Febuary. it was a young (around 18-20 years old) hippie-punk girl who was walking without shoes on a very sunny day down a tourist road. She had really dirty soles and dark-red polished toes. I stopped her and chatted to her for about 5min, she told me that she hiked almost entirely through Holland in 2018 with some friends, and that she also walked a large part of it barefooted. Wow!

I also spotted a dreadlocked barefoot woman in front of a hostel already on the 13th of Febuary (sitting in the sun) but unfortunately I couldn't get a good look and also couldn't chat with her.

Your city will never cease to amaze me as far as chances to spot barefooting women in the most extreme / weirdest situations are concerned, mate.. wink.gif

OK, OK.. I'll ask no further questions.. "Slavic countries" is a large enough area to prevent any guess from my side.. biggrin.gif
Well, given Pavel's not so great passion for public relations.. I would suggest you to apply for such a job.. maybe Pavel can find the idea brilliant.. and you will get a job that many dudes here can only dream about.. smile.gif

P.S. yeah, a session with AMELIE will surely blow away the past upsetting weeks.. and SWAINS has just told me that she has GREAT SURPRISES
for all the people who are interested in http://barefoot-urban-girls.com/.. smile.gif

Wow! German girls are amazing! Have you ever tried to find out how come that so many of them embrace barefoot lifestyle with such ease? Clearly, it´s something unheard of in other parts of the world.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your two wonderful experiences with us! wink.gif

Hope these surprises will include also a couple of barefoot chores. You know the stuff we talked about a year ago: washing a car, washing the front steps, watering plants, etc. If SWAINS felt like that, it would be a nice addition to our favourite "barefoot lifestyle" series. wink.gif

Be sure to visit downtown and go through the parking garages. Those surfaces are filthy and she’s bound to get blackened soles.
