Nana dressed in a long dress the day we met, which was under my request since I think that bare feet with long dress is a beautiful match. When she took off her shoes, I saw her fair-complexioned feet and thought is it too cruel for her to walk on the street barefooted. Nana asked me, “Are we going to shoot in the park?” I answered, “Along the street”. Nana closed the corner of her mouth slightly. I added, “Pass your shoes to me. You cannot wear shoes during the three-hour shooting time. You should use your feet as shoes.” “Ok, no problem. I still like walking barefooted.” I put Nana’s shoes away, took out my camera and began shooting.
Barefooted Nana looked feather-light and walked pretty fast. She walked on blind sidewalk as easily as walking on smooth ground. I thought that although this girl has white and tender feet, she is absolutely good at barefoot life. Nana soon got the feel. She crossed the road as usual, didn’t afraid of barefoot walking and did not care about eyes of passerby. Passerby gradually did not keep a watchful eye on her deliberately since the feel she expressed out now is like walking with shoes.Nana’s feet are upright and god-given. She walked ahead. To be balanced, her tiptoes danced, which was the most beautiful scenery. We had shot some photos. There was a bus station up ahead and had some seats. Nana walked over and seated down, had a rest. She stretched her feet out of her dress, put them down to the ground naturally and enjoyed wind blowing over upper surface of her feet. Her feet were black now and between her toes there is dust. It was a contrast between her white skin and dust. I sighed emotionally and spontaneously: it is such a good thing to be her photographer.
We continue shooting. We began shooting close-up video of barefooted-walking Nana. To keep pace with Nana, I asked her to slow down. Her feet were in front of me. I noticed that each step, she hit her ball of foot onto the ground first and then moved her toes to keep balance, which is the standard method of barefooted walking. I had to say that she is very talented. Since I love to watch toes, to keep balance, dance, I asked Nana stood on one leg and recorded it into video. Then, we kept on shooting. When we were going to pass through crossroad, Nana would wait traffic light. Sometimes, she was impatient and went through the red light. We passed through a road which is under repair. There are gravels and lime grains with a wire pole lying amid them. I asked Nana walked along the wire pole just like walking though a single-log bridge. Nana walked through gravels, stood onto wire pole, stretched her arms. To keep balance, her slender toes danced frequently. She tried her best to walk onto the wire pole. Once fell, she would step in gravels which would hurt her feet. When she walked to one end of the wire pole, she stepped onto gravels. With some simple steps, she walked out airily, with no cries of pain and in a natural way. I admired her so much.
We walked and walked, and came to a riverside. There was a parterre which had just been irrigated. I asked Nana to walk into the parterre. Nana walked several steps and then walked out. “It is too dirty. I got mud over my feet. You said that I should walk like wearing in shoes. Who will wear shoes and walk in mud?” I thought her words made sense. I asked her to sit near a lawn. She began to deal with her feet. Then, I found that Nana is a girl who likes to be clean, loves barefoot walking just like loving a pair of beloved shoes. She cares about them when walking and won’t step into mud intentionally. Even though there is a muddy road, she can pass through unhurriedly.
Then we walked in front of a tree which was chopped down. She sat down, used branch as a rope to play tug of war with her toes. She kept using branch scratch underside of her feet. Her soft and tender laughing came out constantly. I shot a large amount of close-up video that exhibited Nana’s feet thoroughly.
Time flies, soon we finished our shooting. I walked in my shoes and still felt painful. I thought Nana should be much more painful. We went back to where we started our shooting. She cleaned her feet, stepped into shoes and disappeared in the crowd.
