City-feet members' message board > Barefoot memories&impressions > Girls barefoot at festivals with some gravel paths

Hey. In south Germany there is a festival which is situated at an old airfield for sport planes. So basically its on a big field with grass on it, except for some paths which are some times made of gravel. What you can see often is, that girls take off their shoes and walk around barefoot. Maybe because of the many soft grass around. But sometimes they have to walk on one of thoes gravel paths. The interesting thing is that some girls seem to know about it, and they also know that their feet are tough enough to manage it. They basically walk on those paths without effort. Some other girls somehow seem to be surprised by it. Maybe they are just occasional barefooters and didnt expect this path to show up. They have to walk really carful on it. This year, i saw a girl who had really pale feet. You could tell she never walks barefoot outside. Her feet were really white compared to her legs. And for her the gravel path was a big problem to walk on. At the same time, one of those experienced barefooter girls passed by seeming not even noticing that she walks on gravel. I am curious. Do you know of some other festivals, occasions, places where you can watch the same thing happen too?

Once I was at the beach and the a long line of shells was washed up. It was almost like a narrow path of broken shell everywhere that went on for hundreds of feet. There was this young woman ahead of me who was intentionally walking on it the whole way (when she could of easily walked on the soft sand). I was curious and tried and it was way very sharp. It was not at all pleasant so I got off immediately.

Afterwards she stepped off the beach (barefoot of course and without shoes in sight). She crossed the street and went back into her rented house.

She was definitely aware of what she was doing - maybe she rented out that house for the whole summer and her feet got so tough after an entire summer of barefooting that it was nothing to her.

I went to several Grateful Dead shows at the New Jersey Meadowlands stadium. Some people had no discomfort whatsoever on the hot parking lot all day before the show. Others briefly stepped out of their van or car and quickly put on footwear. The same for city streets, some girls I met had leather tough soles, others nicely calloused and still others soft skinned and none had discomfort on hot streets, gravel or small shards of glass.

If you want to see many women of all ages barefooting on sharp gravel, I warmly recommend Englischer Garten (the English Garden) in Munich, Bavaria (Southern Germany). I was there on a sunny day in June 1996, and I believe that I saw at least 30 different beauties barefooting on the gravel paths.. with various degrees of "effort".. wink.gif

Yeah. That's a cool hint. I always look out for places you can watch such things happening.

I have been to Barcelona once. And the beach seems to be a great place for that.

There is a small area of gravel which leads to a wave-breaker or mole. If you walk along the beach you'd have to cross that area. While I was sitting there watching the sun go down, it was really interesting how some girls seem really surprised, but at first try not to put on shoes until they finally do.
