| My wife, whom you might know from her http://www.flickr.com/photos/65248749@N05/, has started a blog about her barefoot lifestyle. There are lots of barefoot-in-public pics, dirty feet, barefoot sandals, walking on gravel, shopping, and hopefully soon some barefooting in restaurants. http://paintedsole.com So far we're updating it every couple of days, and hopefully we'll update at least weekly. http://www.flickr.com/photos/65248749@N05/8409508676/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/65248749@N05/8409508676/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/65248749@N05/, on Flickr |

| Just seen the latest update at taco bell Fantastic!! The first time you posted pics on here she looked a bit nervous to be barefoot in front of people, Now she looks so confident and proud - as well as spending her own time updated her barefoot blog. Is she more confident now. What is her motivation now to devote a blog to her bare feet?? This is really special. To see a wife learn about the importance of her feet and go to so much trouble to hare them is magnificent# Come on folks, this guy and his lady deserve some serious encouragement - and thanks!! Shes not asking for money, shes just showing her feet off for hubby and letting us all enjoy it too!! |

| Thanks, guys! She's been completely barefoot for a week, her last streak broken from having worn flip flops to the dentist. A lot of her confidence is her just getting used to people knowing her as the barefoot artist girl around town. Sometimes, I think she'd be embarrassed if certain people in the local art scene saw her wearing shoes. There are a number of motivations. One is that we always take a lot of pictures, and she's always posting them to various places anyway. Another is that the more exposure a classy, artistic, intelligent barefooter gets the more it will be accepted in society. And also it's something we can do together. I glad everyone is enjoying her blog. Right now, we have enough backlog to post every day for a week. |

| In the blog, I really like the photo of your wife in taco bell. To me it is daring because in the US, almost all fast food places have a sign that shirts and shoes are required. |

| In UK where i live you can go barefoot in restaurant / shops / shopping mall like in NZ/ OZ there are no signs saying no shirts and shoes no entry only shop that says no in UK is supermarket tesco so as i am a barefooter i do not shop there |

| Again, thanks soo much for these nice, natural barefoot pics. It would be soo great if being barefoot would be accepted much more in society. I don't understand, what's wrong with going barefoot in public??? Please continue with your work!!! Tanks and kind regards, Flip |

| Congratulations to you both for this lovely blog, it is great that she is such a hardcore barefooter, even in winter! It would be nice to see more close-up pictures of her beautiful soles and to know about the reactions of passers by, friends and family about her bare feet and tough soles. Thanks a lot for sharing these pictures and part of her life, her experiences and thoughts about being a barefooter. All the best! |

| Dear Mr. & Ms. Kiwifeet, I frankly envy you. I don't know if you make any money out of your blog, and more in general out of Ms. Kiwifeet being a cute barefoot lady. If yes, good for you. If not, I believe you are very lucky anyway, also because I guess you are running the blog at zero cost. You are the perfect incarnation of the spirit of the time, and of the true essence of the digital revolution. You, and all the amateur photographers/bloggers like you, are showing us old-fashioned maverick craftsmen of adult entertainment that we live on borrowed time: we're ridiculous dinosaurs, bound for extinction. I have started shooting at 15 (I am 44 now); I have studied hard to improve my technique; I have worked my ass out on my "respectable" day job to buy better equipment, to pay for my models, to cover travel costs to and from the locations of my shootings; I have slept 3/4 hours per night FOR WEEKS to promote my photographic projects on internet. Wanna know a thing? I AM A CLUELESS IDIOT. This post of yours on this forum certifies it. I have read: posted on Jan 25 - 2,267 views. I have seen it's about a blog Ms. Kiwifeet is running. I have had a look at the quality of the pics: not spectacular, but surely honest (indeed much better than those of many pay websites!!! 1) MS. KIWIFEET LOOKS GENUINE. SHE HAS A STORY TO TELL. And it's clear that nobody seems to give a shit about her not being Barefoot Miss Universe and the shooter not being the Helmut Newton of Dirty Soles. 2) MS. KIWIFEET SHARES HER PICS FOR FREE. And this is enough of a reason for everybody to love her. With the many Ms. Kiwifeet around the web, only a very demanding connoisseur of barefoot beauty with money to waste would still consider spending 40-50 dollars per month to subscribe to City Feet, Toes-In-Action, etc (not to mention buying my very peculiar BAREFOOT URBAN NUDITY pictures and videos). So my hat is off to you, Ms. & Mr. Kiwifeet. You are basically kicking us old-fashioned maverick pornographers in the ass, towards where we belong: the garbage can. But no hard feelings from my side, it's not your fault. It's mine. I should deffo head to Mantua lakes tomorrow... but not for my barefoot nude flashing photosessions.. TO GO FISHING!!! |

Thanks for your encouragement! It's really cool that she's so into it. It was around 40 F here today, and she walked around like it was nothing. She's originally from New Zealand, so for her family it's no big deal. When her brother came to visit, he was jealous of her ability to walk and run on rough aggregate so he took off his shoes and walked barefoot, too. She's had mixed responses from passers-by, usually positive. One store clerk at Wal-Mart vocally admired her barefoot sandals, as did a couple of Target employees (though she's been asked to leave a couple of Target stores). A lady at the nursery where we bought plants for our garden last spring was amazed at her barefoot sandals and said that she was going to make some for herself and her granddaughter and start wearing them to church. We're both kind of semi-eccentric artist types, so our friends kind of expect it from us. |

We're not doing it for money. I guess it would be nice if the money from the ads pays for hosting, but the hosting isn't that much anyway -- which is a good thing, because it seems like most of the ads that come up are advertising shoes! Something our audience probably aren't very interested in. I think when the money rolls in, I might buy a pack of gum. Most of the photos are taken on an iPhone and fixed a little in Lightroom. Not much. Nothing is retouched at all. Just a quick exposure adjustment, sharpening, and noise reduction. I might crop a little. Each image might take 20 seconds to edit. I don't think you're a clueless idiot at all. You've managed to practice your art doing what you love, travel to interesting places, and work with beautiful barefoot women. How many folks here would kill to trade places with you? It's rough trying to make a living as an artist. I worked as a gigging jazz and blues guitarist for many years and lost my ass many times over. I'm doing something much more lucrative now, and it's still a struggle. |

Mr. Kiwifeet, many thanks for your friendly reply (and also for patting on my shoulder.. I cannot but confirm what I have written.. but I appreciate that you, the winners, are at least giving us losers the honors of war.. I wish you and Ms. Kiwifeet a very happy barefoot time. All the best from Italy!!! P.S. Believe me, your pictures are much better than the ones I have seen in many pay websites!!! |

| Fantastic stuff again As she is an arsty type does she ever get dressed up for a posh night out at the theartre - and is she confident to show off her bare feet if so. Just wondering how far she has progressed. Great stuff so far, wondered if she was ready for the formal attire or whether its still early days |
| Posted by: kiwifeet Feb 6 2013, 03:10 AM |
| @Bemused - we go to lots of art events and concerts and she's barefoot. As far as red-carpet wear, not so much, but she'll put on some nice black slacks and dressy blouse with some barefoot sandals and toe rings. |

| http://paintedsole.com Another update at http://paintedsole.com Ms. Kiwi goes barefoot at a gas station, pumps gas and fills up the tires! Or "tyres" as she would say. |

| I tried to subscribe to the blog, but had trouble. It froze on me! Any advice? Your wife has beautiful feet! |

Sorry you're having trouble subscribing. I'm not sure what's going on. I went with Squarespace to make it easy to update the blog. Unfortunately (or fortunately), there's not a lot I can do with back end type stuff. re: her beautiful feet - I know, right? She's awesome. |

| I've got a weird little idea: Since your site is called Painted Sole, how about doing some photos with her feet covered in paint! Well, like I said, it's a weird little idea! |

| Hey thanks! Here's an update from a few days ago at the gas station. The rest of the pics are http://paintedsole.com/blog/2013/2/6/tyre-tire. http://paintedsole.com Those little rocks in the pavement were sharp, but she didn't even flinch. |
| Posted by: DG2001 Feb 16 2013, 02:06 PM |
| Lovely picture, thanks! Is she able to walk barefoot on sharp things, on rocks? How do the soles of her feet look and feel by now? Does she like having tough soles, what does she say about it? |
| Posted by: kiwifeet Feb 17 2013, 06:06 PM |
| Barefoot in the city. It was pretty cold that day, but that doesn't really bother her anymore. http://paintedsole.com http://paintedsole.com @DG2001 - She can walk on rocks and gravel without much problem. Rough pavement doesn't really slow her down at all. Her soles are actually pretty smooth. More like nice leather than sandpaper. When she gets into a regular routine of running, they get pretty rough and calloused. When her feet are clean, you can't really tell how tough her feet are unless you touch them. |

| Lovely pictures again Obviously from her blog she likes to be barefoot to feel the ground beneath her feet, but a fair few of us who view the blog do so becuase we think that bare feet on a woman look good It took my wife a while to understand the importance of her feet in this regard (you may have seen my piccies on this board) She doesn't like being barefoot for herself but understands how much it means to me Can I ask, how has that journey been for you two, does she understand how good she looks barefoot? Does she enjoy the attention or is it something she feels uncomfortable with?? |

We live in the Southeast US. She regularly goes barefoot when it hovers around freezing, though. As long as she has a coat and scarf, she's fine. |

My wife is from New Zealand, where it's really normal to go barefoot in public. There was even a group of American tourists who tried to start a ministry to collect shoes for the poor barefoot kiwis, assuming that they went barefoot out of poverty. When she first moved to the States, 10 years ago, she went barefoot regularly, but started wearing shoes after nasty comments and glances. After that, she occasionally go barefoot to the grocery store or the gas station. A few years ago, she decided to try barefoot running, and then decided to adopt a partially barefoot lifestyle in order to toughen her feet. Over time, she's gotten more and more comfortable barefooting in public. I think any of her previous anxiety was over being seen barefoot in public by people we know, but at this point everyone knows her as the barefoot artist girl. At this point, there are certain places that she'd be embarrassed to be seen with shoes on. I think she enjoys the attention. Anyone who makes a rude comment she usually brushes off as an asshole or an idiot. She's gotten a few compliments lately. She enjoys being known as a barefoot artist. As you can see from her pictures, she's really fond of decorating her feet. I like it, too, but she mainly does that for herself. |

| You're a very lucky man! My girlfriend once promised me she'd go to a restaurant barefooted with me. Mind you, I'd never force her to go through with it, but it would be wonderful if she did it! |

| Everything is fine! Thanks for asking. We've both been really busy with art projects and freelance work. We'll have some updates soon. |
| Posted by: kiwifeet Mar 12 2013, 01:28 AM |
It's been awhile since we've updated, but we've both been busy. Me doing the day-to-day salaryman thing, and my lovely wife painting a piano for a local non-profit cafe and bookstore. Even though we've been absent for a few weeks, it's well documented.![]() ![]() http://paintedsole.com Also, until the dentist visit this morning, she'd gone 11 days without shoes at all, and those were huaraches that I made from really thin leather this morning so she wouldn't have to wear "real" shoes. They went on in the parking lot before going inside the office and came out on the steps as soon as she left. When she breaks her streak of going barefoot, it's usually for something like this or going into a particularly nasty public restroom. She's really only worn shoes for a dozen hours or so in the past couple of years. |
