| Dear Cecilia, again let me commend you on your resolve to remain barefoot always, especially in wintertime. It is an impressive endeavor for certain. I know by experience how difficult it must be when you are out without shoes and have no idea what circumstances you may encounter. I am impressed by your recent entry of 7 degrees Celsius and I would love to get more information. You see, my wife is a barefooter also, although not with the commitment you have, she is barefoot often, but not always, so she has not developed to the degree you have achieved. Last evening we went for a walk around and through our local park, she left our home walking without any shoes with her at all. It was after dark, so there was no sun and we walked over 2 miles in about an hour and a half at 6 degrees Celsius. Her poor feet were frozen and causing her some pain, but she endured. I will be posting some pictures later after I get them uploaded. So I know what it is like to walk for short periods of time barefooted, certainly tolerable, although somewhat painful. My question and challenge for you is how long, how far and how cold are you able to endure with your tough, conditioned and well developed soles? Please provide this additional information with your posts, thank you and keep up the awesome barefooting. |

| Here are a few pictures of my wife's cold, dirty soles during and after our walk last evening. She left our home walking without any shoes at all. | Hello, Footcrzy. This is my first winter barefoot and still do not know if I can help. I took a long time without shoes and my feet are tough. Seven months 24 / 7 barefoot make my feet are hard and strong. The cold makes my feet are tanned. I have no trouble being barefoot in the street with 5 degrees Celsius. I can be all the time it takes. I have no pain and I can bear the cold. But I have no shoes and barefoot living. My case is different. I think it's important for someone who is not used to have the body very warm and not spend much time barefoot on the cold. Only short periods of time and making a break in local hot. I think it is harder to be barefooted at times to live without shoes, because I know I have to be barefoot and I get used to everything. I do not remember the feeling of wearing shoes. Now comes the real winter, 0 degrees. I'll have to endure. I know I can do, but I will be careful. |
