City-feet members' message board > Barefoot memories&impressions > What's the deal with "bfforhealth"??

I'm noticing a lot of lifted photos on this flickr page. And the moment somebody brings it up in the comments, the comment gets immediately deleted.

Suspicious? I mean, isn't there something saying that he can repost some of those pictures on there anyway?

I noticed many of my images on his Flickr pages also, mostly of barefoot street painting artists. Those of us with Flickr, Webshots, MySpace or other pages reap no financial or other reward for the collections we have posted, other than to share with everyone. My pages consist of web images and wherever possible I invite anyone to email me if they wish an image they believe is theirs to be removed. I would NOT post any image from a pay site because I believe that is a violation of their intellectual property and TOS. If I paid for something I am not about to give it away.

This being said, there is one Flickr member who has stolen the identity of another's SO. I emailed the "victim" who has demanded the thief take down their photos to no avail. No doubt due to this, I have not seen any new activity from the original poster (unless I am 'color blind') which is unfortunate for everyone. sad.gif

He has been using some of my images as well. I wrote him a PM last year and now he adds my link underneath the pics, which is fine by me.
I´m sure if you contact him privately he will either remove your photos or add a back link.

I like that visiting that guys account. I get a lot of great pics there I would not otherwise find. Some of the "everyday" shots are buried in photo sharing sites and it is time consuming to find them. Thanks for saving me time! I did find one or two of my photos there. But it did not bother me and I am glad he likes some of my pics.

i used to post pictures on flickr until someone decided they'd use my images as their own. I reported it to flickr just after they closed MY account for copyright infringement. As you can imagine i wasn't particularly happy about the situation as they did nothing about is account. Therefore i won't be posting pictures again, at least until people can stick to the rules and my requests when i specifically asked "please do not repost any of these pictures - if i find them anywhere else i will stop posting"

regards

This is serious messed up. Too many thieves on there - including this bfforhealth douchebag.

And...I mean...he isn't even posting barefooters anymore! What's wrong with him.

It is so unfortunate that others are deprived from seeing your photos because one or two selfish people have violated your property. This is like punishing the whole class because one pupil did something wrong. While one point of view is that anything posted on a free public site can be interpreted as not having reasonable expectation of exclusivity, one should respect a request for not reposting or publicly sharing. In the few cases where I was asked to remove images on my Flickr I did so immediately with a respectful email apologetic reply.

Just a few thoughts. City Feet has no relation to Flickr so I will only post once and not use CF bandwidth for something for which they have no control or probably any interest. He has changed names and this cycle will no doubt repeat itself even if his new name is deleted.

This poor guy has 2000+ images deleted and is too much of a bother to reload them. He is unwilling to pay for a Pro account which allows more than the free 200 images. Someone must have complained. Do ya think? huh.gif

If any private images are posted by someone on Flickr and they do not willingly remove them, complain to Flickr and be specific about which images, when you emailed them requesting removal, etc. That's about all you can do. I know that some of my Flickr images have been lifted and reposted, however, they were from public, free sites and I have no standing to complain as I cannot claim ownership. It's only fair.

The guy doesn't pretend the pictures belong to him, he says he took them from www, it means, public domain.

I think he is just sharing some of his favourite images, that's all. He doesn't pretend to make money out of them.

I don't know if Stanley Not Kubrick has a personal crusade against all image thieves in the internet or only against this particular guy for any specific reason. As far as I know, and correct me if I am wrong, Stanley Not Kubrick hasn't ever produced nor shared any original material here in the Forum.

Not even Paul nor Hal seem to complain, I would change the question to "What's the deal with Stanley Not Kubrick?"

Let the guy post his or the pictures he finds around. I had many of mine pictures within his albums and I don't care at all. Im with DG, what is the deal with Stanley Not Kubrick? WTF...

He had a picture of my barefoot girlfriend's feet too, I think took from Facebook.

I'm with DG too (leaving apart any consideration about S.N.K, who's not an interesting subject to me at all, really ... I'm on this board to discuss BAREFOOTING).

I've recently posted a review of some Hal's videos, together with some pics .. I like thinking that he could have sold one extra copy, not one less, after my post.

I mean: pics of barefooters belong to ... "barefooting".
Obviously, with measure!, when they're from pay sites.
That's all, to me: anything more is somehow exaggeration.

The unique and only real tragedy, within this borders, would be something like Cecilia saying "folks, got hurt, too much pain, thought I was tougher instead my soles toughness betrayed me and abandoned me in front of a lot of people, feel shaken and weak and I must use shoes now, see you in some weeks, maybe". (Somehing similar happened to Polina, that luckily reacted very well.)

Can't see any other ... tragedy, here.

Buy the dude has posted paid-only photos before. And re-posted...

If there's no "tragedy" there, but perhaps Phil would like to expand his business by releasing his content for free.

Doesn't make much sense, does it? :<

This is obviously not fair.
I've to admit I don't rememember exactly that "situation".

Well, to his defense he's always taken them down. But he keeps on doing it. I recall a while back he posted some of Orobas' photos, and after some flickr drama he finally took them down.
