City-feet members' message board > Barefoot memories&impressions > a barefoot girl in Avignon

Two years ago, I spent one day in Avignon, in the south of France. It was in august and the weather was very fine. I hoped to see barefoot girls but I didn't see one during the day. Maybe the pavement was too hot.
At 9.00 pm, I finally saw too girls. They were sitting in a stair. One of them, about twenty, with a short skirt, had taken her shoes off. When they got up to cross the main place, I was sure that the barefooted girl would put her shoes on, because I had seen many glasses on the pavement of the place.
I was wrong! She kept her shoes in hand, and she went down the stairs barefoot. She walked very carefully at the beginning, for I was sure that she had seen the glasses during the day. Her friend seemed to be worried about her bare feet and she often looked down, probably to prevent her from walking on a glass. But it was dark and the place was crowded, so she couln't see all the pieces of glass. She probably walked on many of them, but she didn't seem to care and she kept on walking barefoot.
At the other side of the place, they stopped on a wooden floor where people were dancing. The barefoot girl sat down on the floor, so I could see her dark soles. She was marvellous.

Cool one Sergei. Really. I had a similar incident in Avignon something like 15 years ago. I was there in a class journey in High School. I was walking around and I lost the others because I wanted to walk around with bare feet a bit. When I was walking around, I saw this really neat girl with a skirt on, bare feet and some jingly ankle bracelet I have seen before on gypsy girls. In fact I think she was a gypsy. She was marvelous, so I kept on following her around. She was much older than me, so I didnt have the guts to approach her. Sorry to say, some other guys were chatting with her later. The lovely part was that she had no shoes in sight what so ever and the jingly ankle bracelet drew all attention to her beautiful bare feet. Now thats what I call being proud on barefooting.
