The boardwalks in the summertime are the best place to see barefooting and dirty soles. Those who never normally go barefoot do so. The boardwalks (especially the wooden ones) absorb a lot of dirt, ice cream, and pizza grease - yet women love to go barefoot on them. The atmosphere of these wonderful places always brings back nostalgia to me. Along the boardwalk there are T-shirt shops, bookstores, fast food restaurants, and convenience stores. It is perfectly acceptable for anyone to go into these places barefoot and many do! What are the best boardwalks that you have visited? I have been to many on the East Coast of the US and some are good and some bad. Some have 1 in 200 women being barefoot and others have 1 in 10 barefoot women consistently. Some only get the soles sandy which is not good. Others are adjacent to city streets and will get the soles jet black quickly. Let me know and I'll take some more shots. You do the same! Here are some I took. Some were from years ago so the quality is bad. I plan to do more of this since I am moving near a boardwalk. ~JW ![]() ![]()

What's your favorite spot? I'd recommend Ocean City and Rehobeth, but that's all I know. Great sightings, I recommend this boardwalk concept to everyone here.

Yes I have been to Ocean City. It is such a fun place. I had a friend who walked on the old wooden boardwalk barefoot and her feet got pretty black. We ate at an outdoor cafe and she was barefoot there also. Good places Venica Beach - fairly good Pismo Beach - I saw some beachgoers wander barefoot from the beach into an indoor ice cream shop and some others into a subway sandwich shop. They are not even in beach gear. For instance, I saw this good looking blonde go in barefoot with long jeans and a shirt. Malibu - Does not have a boardwalk and not a good place to see dirty soles. However, I did see three girls go into a nearby supermarket barefoot. Bad Places Atlantic City, NJ - people only go there to gamble and are usually dressed up with nice shoes. Wildwood, NJ - Almost no one went barefoot here relatively speaking. I think the beaches are so wide that from the beach to boardwalk it is a long walk and the sand is too hot. People put on their flip-flops and tend to keep them on. I think it is all about a boardwalk's layout which determines barefootedness. Best place Ever Old Orchard Beach, Maine - This is a dirty sole paradise and I want to share it with you all. I cannot be there very often since I live far from there. Many, many people went barefoot and the streets were filthy. There is an adjacent free amusement park where people wander into barefoot. Go there if you like lobster! They even serve tasty "lobster" rolls at McDonalds. It is amazing how the further North you get, the better the barefootedness gets. The summers are short in Maine so I recommend going in July or Early August. June can actually be quite chilly and people will stay away from the beach.

I was going to ask about favourite spots for seeing barefoot women so this topic has given me the opportunity to mention a couple. My two favourites are St Annes and Blackpool in the north west of England. At St Annes the best place is by the pier entrance. It's mainly a family resort and there are lots of young mothers leaving the beach barefoot to go to the shops or to take their kids to the paddling pool just across the promenade. On a hot day the paddling pool area is teaming with young barefoot mothers, but taking photographs is often a bit dodgy as there are too many kids around. Every so a girl will leave the beach area and go towards the town centre barefoot but it's rare. In Blackpool there's a lot of rebuilding the sea defences but there are often plenty of people leaving the beach area barefoot just north of the south pier and just south of the central pier. North of the north pier looks like it should be a good spot but the building work is spoiling it. Seeing girls walking decent distances along the promenade is relatively rare, though some will cross the main road to shops on the other side without shoes. The Pleasure Beach at Blackpool used to give the occasional glimpse when a girl had removed her shoes to go on a ride, but it's usually only a few steps barefoot then the shoes are back on. Full barefooting is very rare in the UK, but girls who have removed uncomfortable shoes is slightly more common. So does anyone else have anything to share? What I'm looking for is specific areas not just "outside the clubs at two o'clock in the morning"

Hey jwdf88 I'm with you on the north! People the north rules. I lived in New Hampshire during high school. The awesome and outrageous barefoot sightings were off the charts... I didn't mention that because the topic is boardwalks. We vacationed in Maine too, and again, off the charts. Forget these cities and suburbs, New England is *the* place for bare feet. And I don't mean they're a little more 'laid back'. I mean some serious public dirty feet like you'll never see anywhere in US, for a combination of reasons unique to that area. If I started talking about the situations I've witnessed up there, you'd be sure I was exaggerating or just making it up. I saw situations that *blow away* anything in these boards or websites where I actually (and I'm very self-controlled, totally normal) had to slip into the nearest restroom immediately, if you know what I mean.
