I guess I never realized how in awe people were at my everyday life until I started telling people about it. I'd never even though anything of it until Boyfriend mentioned something about my feet being tough. For some reason, I had always thought everyone could do what I do. I became more aware after a trip to a creek bed with Boyfriend. I scampered along the shore, not even noticing the rocks anymore, while Boyfriend limped along behind. After only a few steps, he had to put his shoes back on. That was a real awakening experience for me. Since then, I've paid more attention to the things that are unusual about me. For example, most people don't run barefoot on gravel roads every day. I, on the other hand, do exactly that.

My feet can take anything.

This is what they look like after running 5k barefoot.

After my 5k, I sprinted 400 meters, or about a quarter mile.

My feet are tough enough to take it.

There's not a mark on them. If rough gravel doesn't even make a dent, there's probably nothing my feet can't handle.

What's the next dare, folks?

Hi, cjaaov, You're marvellous!!! Have you got an account on facebook? smile.gif

Posted by: cjaoov Oct 21 2010, 09:38 PM
I do, but I try not to add random strangers from the internet. Sorry! Maybe I'll make a fan page for myself.

Posted by: daniello Oct 21 2010, 09:38 PM
And please, post more pics where your feet are black or very dirty smile.gif

Posted by: cjaoov Oct 21 2010, 09:39 PM
I'll see what I can do. My feet aren't often black or dirty, usually just muddy.

The close up might be a good format for you (some more gravel video's from you, good close ups) and for future dares

Gentlemen, the lady is waiting! Actually, she's challenging us :-)

Posted by: cjaoov Oct 22 2010, 05:28 AM
Yes, I am challenging you, but try not to make it too crazy. I do need to be able to actually have functioning feet after this, so no dancing on coals or walking on tetanus-infested nails.

Posted by: b'ftlvr2008 Oct 22 2010, 07:08 AM
I am waiting,, hehe
My comments are in. As well as my cameratology suggestions of high res. close-ups i.e. the previous post with the YouTube example.
Oh, btw the video's posted were great, so much better than stills.

Fantastic !

Thanks !

There is a thing I have diffcoult to understand :I (and many other) associate the ability to walk barefeet on very hard path to very tough and callused soles, like the one you can see here

http://www.flickr.com/photos/bft247/

But,your soles, are not callused, and do not seem tough, your soles seems soft, your feet are very pretty

I'm thinking about... laugh.gif

For whatever reason, my feet have never become calloused, but rather instead became impervious to pain. My feet are soft and supple, yes, but they are stronger than some shoes. I don't know why my feet became this way. Perhaps it the things I walk on barefoot have had an exfoliating effect, similar to a facial scrub, rather than resulting in thick callouses.

I had two ex-girlfriends who were barefooters. One had uniformly tough soles, like 1/2" thick rubber. Another had a nice set of callouses and tough heels. Neither had any discomfort on hot pavement, gravel, rough surfaces, concrete sidewalks, etc. There was this woman who hung out in Washington Square Park (Jane was her name) who was always barefoot with filthy black feet (top,s sides, soles). She let me feel her soles. They were very soft yet she walked on scorching hot pavement with ease. This was about 20 years ago, today no one goes barefoot anymore in the Village :-(

Everyone is different in their tolerance of surfaces. I met one woman (Kelly was her name) at a Dead show in the Meadowlands. Her soles were hard as rocks. We massaged each others feet. There were small piles of dirt under our feet afterward! Kelly told me her mom threw her off her bed weeks before because her feet were so dirty. Another girl (Olga was her name) had black soles but very soft soles. I felt all over for some callouses but found none, proving that every person's tolerance is different. wink.gif
