Some of you may remember this hardcore barefoot hippy beauty from her clip "Gorgeous Barefoot Girl" (==> http://forum.city-feet.com/index.php/showtopic.1624 and here is a http://forum.city-feet.com/index.php/showtopic.1853), and this time she even has dreadlocks ;-) Janne is the type of girl where being barefoot just comes naturally because she loves to feel the earth or street beneath her naked soles -- and she walks so lightly without shoes that at first you wouldn`t even notice that she is barefooted.

Her latest clip shows her walking barefoot in the city and on that hardcore gravel landscape. I hope you enjoy it wink.gif

You can see more of Janne at http://www.clips4sale.com/store/1120

Cheers to all of you,

Is she up for a winter set?

Yeah, totally. She just wrote me an email two days ago asking to do a winter set.

This would be my first winter set I´ve ever filmed...so please let me know what you`d like to see. We even have a lot of snow here at the moment.

Cheers,

Obviously her walking in and on snow, also flexing her toes in the snow and enjoying it, and catching the attention of passers-by and their reactions!

BTW also love that her toes are dirty on the tops, and she keeps the same toe-rings and cuffs!

Hal, it is apparent that Janne rarely if ever puts on shoes, does she remain barefoot even in the snow always, or will she be going barefoot just for this photoshoot? I would love to know the temperature on the day of the shoot and the length of time she is able to leave her bare feet exposed to the elements without requiring a break or warm-up, how awesome would it be if she showed up for the set barefoot, without any shoes! Continuous long footage is best with her trudging thru snow and slush, deep puddles filled with ice and snow, and maybe even barefoot ice skating. Would love to see her set a new standard that Ira would be willing to challenge

Is exactly what I asked for !

And only a few day ago...

Magic,wonderful.

Thanks !

I'm going to buy the videos !

I will say more tomorrow...(my connection is quite slow and will require all the night to complete the downloads...)

Those videos seem great for sure!!!

Paul, I wonder if you could find a similar landscape full of debris, stones, gravel, thorny bushes, etc. for your girls....could you???

Posted by: Clipper Jan 15 2010, 11:26 PM
I just finished to see the videos !

Wonderful !

Is my dream !

Janne walks over rocks and sharp gravel like she was over a carpet !

Now I've not any doubt, she have very tough, strong, hard feet.

You have touched her soles : like they feel like ?

Have you asked her if she sometime feel hurt or nothing ?

Where she live : in Italy I never see barefooter like her....(and I try to find many time).

Super good videos !

Thanks !

Now I hope that some other girls will try the same extreme path.

Some other curiosity about Janne :

she walks barefeet all the year or in the very cold winter she wear something ?

at what age she started barefooting ?

She is an angel! A woman from heaven wub.gif

Boy do I love dreadlocks with bare feet!

Hal, do you have any idea why Germany has so many more women like Janne, Katja, and Celeste than the US does? Is German society just less uptight about it than the US is? Did you ever ask Janne or Katja or Celeste why they don't wear shoes? Is it a style thing, or are they just more comfortable that way?

Just curious.

I will be meeting up on wednesday with Celeste to film in the snow. She said it would be no problem for her to be barefoot in the snow for a long period. Janne said the same thing, but I will only be able to meet up with her early next week and apparently the snow will start melting as the weather is going to turn a little milder (about 2 degrees above Celcius). I´ll have to see if any snow if still on the streets.

I´m pretty excited...this will be my first snow session wink.gif

Janne`s soles feel greet....nice and tough, but pretty smooth. Not as "sandpaper-like" as some other soles (which is great, too). She walks barefoot a lot...last year in summer I saw her almost daily walking the streets of my suburb...she was either on a bike or on foot. She walks barefoot completely natural...as if she is wearing shoes. I don´t think there are many surfaces that bother or hurt her.

She told me that she only started walking barefoot a couple of years ago (maybe four years)....after school she started working in a theater group for a year and all their performances are done barefoot (mostly girls in the group)...she said that after the rehearsals she didn`t feel like wearing shoes and just continued walking around barefoot.
Tuba (one of my other models) also works in that theater group and she is also constantly barefoot in the streets....and she told me there are at least 4-5 other barefoot girls in that group. Wow!

I also love the combination of dreadlocks and bare feet! cool.gif

I´ve been asked this question a lot: Why are there so many barefoot girls in Germany?
My first guess is: There are probably also a lot of barefoot girls in neighbouring countries, such as the Netherlands, Begium, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, etc. But it seems like there is no photographer or webmaster there to capture them on film, so we never find out or get to see these women.

But another reason is: The town I live in is very liberal...people here are pretty layed back, there are many students, punks, hippies and relaxed people, most women aren`t terribly obsessed with the latest fashion, and it is very common for girls to walk barefoot. They don`t get harrassed for it, like in some more "conservative" towns or places. It is accepted, tolerated and quite normal....especially in my suburb. I live in the "alternative" part of town. Here most people also don`t ride around in cars...they walk, ride bike or take public transportation...and since I never go by car I get to see a lot of bare feet in summer.

One more reason: The summers here are usually pretty mild. It is quite rare to have really boiling, hot days....so it is quite a perfect climate to walk barefoot. It is not too cold and not too hot. I´m sure in some countries the streets are almost to hot to walk barefoot in summer.

Cheers,

Hmm, well I guess I've got to take a trip to Bremen in the summertime some day. biggrin.gif

The only time I've been to Germany was in Munich in April when it was still somewhat cold, and I didn't even see any women in flip-flops, much less barefoot.

I´ve heard that Munich is great as well in summer...you were probably unlucky if you stayed there during a cold April.

Hal Heaven, bout the question : Why are there so many barefoot girls in Germany ?

I'm thinking about the reverse question : Why are there so few barefoot girls in Italy ?

I'm full agree with one of your hypothesis,in Italy all girls are obsessed with the latest fashion, that is high heels, uncomfortable sandals, rarely flip flop.
But never barefeet.

The strange things is that there are some actress / singer with barefoot style, but girls do not seems to follow this "good" fashion, but only shoe fashion...

You are probably right. The Feetosopher (who is also from Italy) said the same...he said that there are hardly any barefoot girls in Italy because most women there are obsessed with the latest shoe fashion.
Another reason may also be because going barefoot it a symbol of poverty in certain countries (in Italy as well?)....I think DG once mentioned that argument for the country he comes from (which is Peru). Women tend to wear shoes to show that they are not poor.

Obviously in Germany there are also very many women obsessed with shoes and fashion, and I´m sure that these types of women also frown about going barefoot in public....but luckily we have a strong minority of girls who are proud of being barefooted.

Cheers,
-Hal-

Hal Heaven,you have perfectly right,

in Italy going barefoot it a symbol of poverty, beacause ,until the 60',farmers,
who were the poorest people, work in the field always barefeet (and had very tough soles !).
I had posted some photos about it...

The workers who worked in factories had economic conditions somewhat better,
and wore shoes.

So going barefeet were taken as a poverty symbol...

I think Germany is at the right latitude for barefooters(Not too south).

I travel a lot and warm weather is not necessarily the deciding factor. I notice that in the US most barefooters are in the more northern states. I never see anyone barefoot in Florida. In Texas, the streets are boiling and I never see anyone barefoot there either.

Coastal California is the only exception. The weather is mild even in the summer and the beach culture flows into the cities. I have seen barefoot girls in supermarkets and stores. In Los Angeles, there is a lot of polution. I got a car rental and after only 4 days I wiped my finger on the hood of the car and it was jet black. So when I saw a barefoot girl in LA in Target ( a department store), her soles were so black it was unbelievable.

When springs hits in the northern states, girls love to go barefoot and feel the sensations after a long winter. I notice that girls in Florida wear flip-flops all year round so kicking off the shoes in warm weather is not very novel to them.

As a barefoot girl from Texas, I would agree with your statement that summer surfaces are boiling hot; however, I've managed to build up a tolerance over the years so that I'm able to go barefoot during the hottest months of the year. In addition to old fashioned leathery soles, I rely on the dirt on my soles to provide some protection as well as "mind over matter". I discovered early on that if I expected a surface to be too hot or uncomfortable, it usually was; however, if I started with the assumption that I could handle the heat, I usually could.

Sadly, not everyone has my dedication to going barefoot during the day in extreme summer months, but I see a a good number kick off the flip flops once the sun goes down. I also see a good number of barefooters in the early spring and late fall, when temperatures are moderate.

Take care and keep em bare!

I am so glad you are barefoot in Texas Melissa! More will hopefully follow your example. The part I lived in was the Dallas. I guess it can be hard to see barefooters in such a big city. I never saw anyone barefoot in a store there. Perhaps smaller cities are better as well as the countryside.

Hello Melissa,

I'm waiting to see some photos of your old fashioned leathery soles...

You walk over very hot surfaces, but are smoot surface or rough surface, like sharp gravel heated by sun ?

I think this is the case. You almost never see anyone barefoot in New York City, but in smaller college towns with more of a hippie culture, it's more common. I saw more barefoot girls in one night in Asheville, North Carolina than I've seen in years in NYC.

I too would love to see those "old fashion leathery soles" and how thick is the dirt and grease if it also adds protection? She has some awsome feet.
I think barefoot-hippy-chic needs a new video and some nice stills.
Melissa you're the ultimate. A hardcore extreme barefooter we can actually chat with rolleyes.gif
I remember when she posted "Glass is also not a concern for me, and I generally have stopped looking where I step when I go barefoot because I no longer have a fear of injury." and lit cigarettes aren't a problem.
Who else would like to a good high quality video with some nice close-ups?

All of you are far too kind. I'm proud of the videos and photos I've shared with the barefooting community over the past 8 years, but the reality of my current situation (working mother of three kids) makes it virtually impossible for me to guarantee a regular flow of new videos or pictures.

To give you some idea of how my "productivity" in this regard has developed over time, I posted about 600 pictures in 2002 and 2003 when my web site was actvie and I had only one child. My hubby also found time to take lots of video of my barefoot evolution, all of which is now on youtube.

In 2004-2006 we decided to mothball my web site because posting new content with regularity was difficult. Instead I opened my barefoot lifestyle group on yahoo and posted new pictures there whenever I went on vacations or road trips. During this period I averaged about 100 new pictures per year.

My twin girls were born in late 2006, and since then I'm averaging a pathetic 50 new pictures per year and zero videos.

Of course, the great irony is that as my ability to post new content has decreased, my love and commitment to barefooting has increased exponentionally. If you had told me eight years ago that I would be screening babysitters based on their willingness to go barefoot, or that I'd freely share the importance of barefooting to my physical, mental and sexual well being to friends, family, and complete strangers without a seond thought...I would have been surprised to say the least.

All that said, I promise that I will do my best to capture some of my hard-core barefooting moments of 2010 in pictures. My hubby is standing next to me as I write this and promises to help in this endeavor. That is of course the least he can do since he awakened this passion in me all those years ago.

Take care and keep em bare and dirty!

Hi Melissa

WOW! So you can walk barefoot in Texas? The street pavement must be as hot as a hot iron! Is it a "mind over matter" thing too? So it hurts, and you simply ignore it?

There are three prerequisites for successful barefooting during summers in Texas:

1. Keep moving! Staying in one spot for very long will punish even the hardest soles.

2. Always do it with dirty soles - the dirt serves as a buffer/barrier of sorts and insulates the skin just enough.

3. Mind over matter, just as DG suggests. If you think it's going to hurt, it will. If you think you're up to the challenge, you usually are.

Yes, a barefoot woman I met last summer said the exact same thing. She can crush burning cigarettes and crush glass bottles barefooted, even though her soles aren`t as tough as some other barefooters. It´s all a matter of the mind, she said.

Hi Melissa

Great post!

What would your advice for a girl who would want to become a full time barefooter? Do you have any tips you'd like to share?

When are you introducing "Lil" ?
After your comments earlier in this post, I've been waiting to see more extreme /
hardcore barefooting.
Let us know,,

Hal, Janne is such a pretty girl and she has such beautiful feet..she' a natural, like my girl Katja..thanks man, you do such great work!!

As said before,Janne is a miracle girl : very pretty girls and very tough hard soles !

Quality difficult to match in a girls.

Hal , you hope you will make other videos with Janne, obviously over very hard path.
Or better, hard path for other girls,I think Janne can walk over anything without problems.

You can tell us something about ?
