Hi! I haven't posted in a while. Here's an old Life magazine photo of a dancer showing off her dirty soles. It's from 1952--long before most of us were born! I think it's one of the hottest dirty feet photos I've ever seeN! Here's the link: http://images.google.com/hosted/life/f?q=feet+washing+source:life&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dfeet%2Bwashing%2Bsource:life%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26start%3D18&imgurl=5fad4ea9d8a3d0fb

It looks like she's a bellydancer. Yeah, I love photos and videos of bellydancers since they're often barefoot (and of course they're dressed in sexy costumes). Occasionally, you can find photos on Flickr or videos on youtube of bellydancers with dirty feet from dancing barefoot in clubs or out in the street. http://www.flickr.com/photos/24130425@N07/3757935421/in/set-72157621715224997/ Given their name, I guess this group always dances barefoot, even in the street.

Nice picture. The one in the green, who is the cutest, has the best looking feet. And if you look close, one gal has sandles on.

When I was pregnant with my twins several years ago, I attended a bellydancing class for all of my first trimester and part of my second (at which point it was no longer comfortable to do). Bellydancing has its roots as a prenatal exercise to prepare women for childbirth, and I can vouch for the fact that it does exactly that. Regardless, I attended all classes barefoot (naturally), much to my instructors delight. She required everyone to dance barefoot and strongly encouraged my classmates to follow my lead outside the dance studio. Although most of my classmates did not follow her advice, most of the ladies in the advanced classes did...and they really seemed to appreciate the natural benefits of going barefoot. Most readily admitted that they lacked my courage to go everywhere barefoot, but they did so as much as possible. I regret that I have never had time to go back and continue my dance studies (3 kids will do that), but I will always feel a natural affinity for bellydancers as a result of my experience. Take care and keep em bare! Melissa

Yeah, that's one problem: you'll often find that bellydancers in the street will have shoes on. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2471641688&ref=search&sid=588263301.2323374600..1 The above is a bellydance troupe with A LOT of photos of them dancing barefoot in the street. |
